Dommage, j’ai ni jupe ou robe de paillettes. Et j’ai aimé bien un ou l’autre en or. Ce que j’ai dans ma garde-robe est ce petit pull-over noir avec noeud de paillettes en noir et gris. Mon look est pour un peu de brillance pour la vie quotidienne, pour une date, pour le nouvel an ou Noël entre amis ou la famille. La jupe est du tweed et velours. J’aime bien la combinaison des matériaux grossiers avec les paillettes ou l’argent des collants baroques.
Bugger, I neither have a sequin skirt or dress. And I’d like to have the one or the other. What I do have in my wardrobe is this little jumper with a black and grey sequin bow. My look brings a bit of sparkle into everyday life, to a date, a relaxed Christmas with the family or New Year’s Eve with friends. The skirt is tweed with flocked on velvet. I love to mix materials, especially the coarse tweed with the shiny sequins or the silver glittering baroque tights.

Schade, ich habe weder Paillettenkleid noch -rock. Und eigentlich fehlt meiner Garderobe auch das eine oder andere. Was ich aber darin finden kann, ist der kleine Pullover mit der bestickten Paillettenschleife in schwarz und grau. Mein Outfit bringt etwas Glanz in den Alltag, für ein Date, zu Weihnachten mit der Familie oder Silvester mit Freunden. Der Rock ist aus Tweed, mit Samt bepflockt. Ich mag es Materialien zu mixen, besonders den eher groben Tweed mit den glitzernden Pailletten oder der silber schimmernden Barockstrumpfhose.
Yep, another Christmas outfit – from LindyBop. Unlike the #LindyBauble with the red checks or the #LindyMail with the mini black gingham dresses this is like my Bernie Dexter Winterwonderland dress a proper themed one. It sold out really quickly. No surprise it is lovely, not too much kitsch and the price was great, too. I think that works pretty nicely after Christmas as a winter dress, too. It even adds a touch of chalet romance to my flat.
Und noch ein Weihnachtsoutfit – nimmt das denn gar kein Ende? Doch ja – Ende nächster Woche 😉 Im Gegensatz zu dem Kleid mit den roten Karos aus#LindyBaubleoder dem aus #LindyMail mit den schwarzen Vichy-Karo ist das hier ein richtiges Weihnachtskleid – wieBernie Dexters Winterwonderland. Leider war das Kleid superschnell ausverkauft. Wenig überraschend, es ist charmant, nicht zuviel Kitsch und hatte auch einen guten Preis. Ich finde das Kleid kann auch noch gut nach Weihnachten getragen werden – als Winterkleid. Da bekommt selbst meine Wohnung etwas Hüttenzauber.
I only wish the Alps were a bit higher up so that 1-2 inches could be taken off the hem. This really riles me with the Hell Bunny Christmas dress, too – even worse with that one – if you take the hem in Bambi gets its‘ legs chopped off. Lindy Bop hat three items in the Alpine collection – my dress, a twin set and a skirt. Ich wünschte mir die Alpen lägen etwas höher damit der Saum um 3-5cm eingekürzt werden kann. Das finde ich einfach nur ärgerlich. Ebenso beimHell Bunny Weihnachtskleid– da ist es noch ungeschickter – lässt man das Kleid kürzen, hat Bambi keine Füsse mehr. LindyBop hatte drei Teile in der Alpen-Kollektion – mein Kleid, ein Twin Set und einenRock.
Thought this was a perfect match – a traditional vintage scarf and brooch. Ein klassisches Trachtentuch und eine Vintagebrosche runden das Outfit ab.
A vintage muff – as a hostess you normally don’t wear a handbag – but if I’d need one and it was cold outside, I’d take it along. Kein alter Hut, sondern ein Vintage-Muff – als Gestgeberin hat man meist keine Handtasche dabei, aber wäre es kalt und ich müsste raus – das wäre meine Wahl.
People were staring somewhat befuddled – somehow they wondered about this strange lady (me) posing next to the postboxes. Don’t think they realised my bestie made pics with my iPad. Ach, whatever. This look isn’t just festive but it also works nicely in January or February (though without the lantern brooch). I got that 1950s vintage brooch from Wunder-Same – she has lovely stuff in her shop!
This is MontyDerMops – Monty, the pug. Contrary to other people my pet isn’t a handbag sized dog but a dogshaped handbag. This FuzzyNation animal (sorry, they closed their shop – but check them out on Amazon or eBay) isn’t very roomy but has been a trusty companion since 2009. I fell in love with him two years before on a flight out to Paris in Manchester Airport.
I was gutted when I found these shoes a few days later. Sigh – they would have been perfect. The grey tweed fascinator is the one and only hand made Christmas presie for the friend who takes a lot of my pictures (the position of the Instagram husband is still open ^^). And the tartan one is a surprise but not a Christmas present 😉

Ok – not quite the pose – but currently that is not such a good idea. Nun denn – ganz die Pose habe ich nicht getroffen, aber das ist im Moment auch noch keine so gute Idee.

Etwas Schmuck um mit dem Baum zu Weihnachten um die Wette zu glitzern – das Armband braucht noch eine Verlängerung. Die Laterne war heute nicht zu sehen, dafür aber in ein paar Tagen bei einem anderen Outfit. Leider ist der Sicherheitsverschluss der kleinen Blütenzweigbrosche defekt – etwas was mit in letzter Zeit öfters mal bei Ebay passiert ist. Hmpf…

Dies ist ein etwas alltagstauglicher Style für das Bernie-Dexter-Winterwonderland-Kleid. Ich würde das mit diesem Fascinator tragen (aber alles was ich nach dem Bild gemacht hatte war wieder ins Bett zu kriechen). Ich erhole mich noch gerade von einer OP und die Dinge laufen gerade etwas langsam 🙁
A more casual style for the Bernie-Dexter-Winterwonderland dress – I’d team it with this fascinator (but all I did after this pic was shot was crawl back to bed). Am still recovering from surgery. And things are a little slow 🙁
This dress hung forever and a day in my closet since my birthday in May. Somehow there never quite was the time to show it off. It would make an amazing New Years Eve outfit. That is if I went to a party. And personally if I wasn’t the only female single present, too. This beauty from PinUp-Girl-Clothing is spectacular. Check out their plus size range – you get the most glorious dresses (and other things) from sultry to sweet.
The cleavage of the fabulous Ava is impressive and a bit too revealing for my taste (though I am sure there would be no complains from the Gentlemen). That green brings out the very best in my colouring. Even my mum was gobsmacked, so was a guy who just wanted to pick up his pants from my taylor (had the hem shortened by quite a bit).

So here I am standing next to my wonderful 1930s repliqua bar cart and pretend to be the hostess with the mostess. The Jewellry is more sparkly than the detail pic lets on and the fascinator is reclaimed fur. Reclaimed fur? It was a vintage hat (and scarf set), but like so many of the era too small and in a style I find rather dowdy on me. So I kept the scarf and turned the hat into this little millinery confection. I have worn it before here.
The necklace reminds me of the 1950s kitsch film series „Sissi“ – oringinally hair ornaments like here.

Dieses wundervolle Bernie Dexter Pin-Up Kleid ist eine Weihnachtskarte zum Anziehen. Es fehlt fast nur der Glitter. Ich schmachte nach diesem Muster schon seit einigen Jahren. Ich finde es grossartig, das Bernie Dexter einen erneuten Anlauf für PlusSize Kleidung unternommen hat und ich drücke ihr die Daumen für ein gutes Gelingen! Es passt einfach zu mir – allerdings habe ich mir die Freiheit genommen es etwas familiengerechter zu machen. Bei mir gilt: je grösser der Busen, desto kleiner der Ausschnitt. Viel hilft nicht immer viel! Deswegen habe ich vom Schneider meines Vertrauens einen Einsatz aus feinster Plauener Spitze einnähen lassen. Ich hoffe Bernie Dexter rollt jetzt nicht mit den Augen – aber ein Kleid, dass im Schrank hängen bleibt oder an dem man nur herumzupft ist niemals sexy.

This is a dream come through. A Christmas card you can wear. I lusted for this pattern for at least three years. Saw it sighed in awe. Whistfully as the largest size was still a few sizes too small. Earlier in the year there was a heated debate on Bernie Dexter’s Facebook page. Well, her first attempt at plus sizes a few years back failed apparently epically. It was too early. I keep my fingers crossed for this time though and wish her the best of luck and success (that’s how we do it in German). And suddenly what I lusted for became available. In my size.
An hour later when I clicked on the dress to buy it it was out of stock. Panic. Ohhh nooooooooo! So close. So I wrote an email and within the hour I got a reply. So promptly. She was checking stocks and was happy to tell me there were more in 4xl available. Finally the pattern I waited for three years came within three weeks. My trusted taylor added a lace insert as the cleavage isn’t very modest on me. And since tugging is never sexy (or banning something into the wardrobe) I prefer it that way – on me. I hope Bernie Dexter will forgive me. The charming little hat is by Tate Millinery and was featured in this issue of Vintage Flaneur by the lovely Vintagemädchen.

Last year I teamed up my Hell Bunny Trixie coat with white. Lots of white. This is a less cartoony look. A bit snow princess for everyday. It is still a striking coat. I got it when it came out in winter 2014/2015. You can get it much cheaper now on Amazon. It is also available in pink, but I don’t like that with my blonde hair. Too sweet. Wayyyy too sweet. My next post will be my contribution for Curvy Christmas on December 8th – can’t wait!
Letztes Jahr habe ich meinen Hell Bunny Trixie Mantel mit Weiß kombiniert. Viel Weiß. Dies hier ist ein weniger auffälliger Look. Der Mantel ist immer noch ein Hingucker. Ich musste ihn letztes Jahr unbedingt haben, als er herauskam. Jetzt gibt es ihn wesentlich preiswerter bei Amazon. Sogar in rosa, aber das ist mir mal t meinen blonden Haaren zu süß, um nicht zu sagen, zu süßlich.
Mein nächster Beitrag ist dann endlich mein Türchen bei Curvy Christmas am 8.12 – ich freu mich schon so!
