I wanted to do this post for a very long time – but I didn’t really have the right dress(es) for that. Back then it was supposed to be a winter thing but it didn’t feel right. When I got the blue pencil dress I knew it was meant to be.

Diese Post wollte ich schon seit langem machen – aber irgendwie hatte ich nicht das perfekte Kleid (oder Kleider) dafür. Da sollte es eigentlich ein Winterlook werden. Als ich das blaue Bleistiftkleid gekauft hatte, wusste ich, es war so soweit.

Viel Spass nicht nur am Meer – diese Tasche passt super gut zu maritimen Looks und ist eines meiner Liebsten Geschenke überhaupt.

Tulip Craze – and then the parents and I were on the way to the ferry to Borkum when almost there – well, in the 10 minutes we stopped there, lots of others did too. Tulip fields are not typical for this region. And we took those pics in the first half of May.

Tulpen Manie – als die Eltern und ich auf Mitte Mai dem Weg zur Borkum-Fähre waren, kamen wir an diesem Tulpenfeld in voller Blüte vorbei. Das in einer Region von „Holland“, in der Tulpenfelder tatsächlich selten sind. Es hielten auch noch einige andere Leute in den 10 Minuten, wo wir da standen.

Windmills and Barges – the souvenir brooches are vintage Delft porcelain with traditional Dutch motives and I even got a matching scarf! Shown here a few years ago.

Windmühlen und Plattbodenschiffe – die Andenkenbroschen sind aus altem Delfter Porzellan und haben traditionelle Motive und ich habe sogar ein passendes Tuch! Wie vor einigen Jahren hier zu sehen war.

Milkywhite – the brooch and ear clip set is vintage from the 1950s or 60s and in pristine condition. Not shown is the little tea pot charm. Quite a shame actually.

Milchweiss – die Brosche und die Ohrclips sind ein originales Set aus den 1950- oder 60gern und in einem perfekten Zustand. Nicht auf dem Bild ist der kleine Teekannen-Anhänger. Schade eigentlich.

Maritime fun is back in baby blue this year. A few years back sailor looks were a big thing for summer with the vintage repro or pin-up clothing manufacturers. That seems to have ceased. But then much of it felt more like dress-up or role play than summer wear.

Maritime Fun – Spass am Meer gibt es dieses Jahr in Hellblau. Vor einigen Jahren gab es in der Vintage und Pinup-Szene wahnsinnig viele Matrosenlooks für den Sommer. Aber vieles davon war selbst für mich gefühlt eher was für die Verkleidekiste als Sommerspass.

The cheap earrings are surprisingly light weight and obviously lots of fun and go well with red lipstick.

Die preiswerten Ohrringe sind überraschend leicht, passen prima zu rotem Lippenstift und machen einfach nur Spass.

Yes, I have that shirt in a few colours. It is awsome. The light blue is apart from the red my favourite. The peach raffia bag is new and great for summer. I presume it’ll get quite a bit of mileage. It’ll definitely come along to Berlin later this week with the office.

Ja, dieses Shirt habe ich in einigen Farben und es ist grossartig. Das hellblaue gehört neben dem roten zu meinen Favoriten. Die Strohtasche in apricot ist neu und freut sich schon auf viele Einsätze. Sie kommt definitiv diese Woche mit nach Berlin auf unsere Büro-Exkursion.

The vintage crab brooch is a favourite with my maritime looks. But it has only been once before with the crab skirt on this blog.

Die alte Krebsbrosche trage ich immer wieder gerne zu maritimen Looks. Allerdings hat sie es bis jetzt nur einmal mit dem Krebs-Rock auf meinen Blog geschafft.

These shots were actually taken on Borkum – but my mum and I were too tired that day to go to the promenade for these pictures and we did two more outfits, so the garden where we always stay, the Villa San Remo, was once more used as a back drop.

Die Bilder wurden auf Borkum aufgenommen – allerdings waren meine Ma und ich zu müde um die an der Promenade oder dem Stadtstrand zu machen und wir haben dann noch zwei weitere Outfits aufgenommen. Also diente mal wieder der Garten der Villa San Remo, wo wir immer unterkommen, als Kulisse.
