On the Go: Tartan Love

This was meant to be the November outfit for the French Curves (La Pluie – Rainy Day) – but I struggled this month. Currently I am counting the days till the end of the year. Whenever in the last few months I thought I sorted out one thing out, another thing emerges. Somehow blogging gets a little lost over that.

Fortunately we got Christmas coming up soon. And I LOVE Christmas. Also, I got a few outfits sorted for that! As well as a nice give-away. But for now it is big love with the pretty red Royal Stewart tartan – yes, the one I got in green, too.

And that was supposed to be the look for the French Curves „Rainy Day“.

French Curves: Combi-Short – Tropical Delight Playsuit

Voilà, c’est encore le 16me du mois – temps pour la challenge du French Curves Fashion. Après un weekend à Wales au plein désert (verte) et 18C. Avec le pluie doux. Cet challenge est un peu étrange. C’était automnal là. La tenue choisie est pour aller à la plage ou la piscine.
It is once more the 16th of the month and time for the French Curves Fashion Challenge. After a weekend in the (very green) middle of nowhere in Wales. At 18C. With soft rain. This challenge feels a little odd. I already had a taste of autumn. My outfit however is for a trip to the pool or beach.

Tropical Delight – encore une fois (revisited)Ma mère n’aime pas les shorts courtes. Pour elle j’ai créé le deuxième look. Pour aller au restaurant après la plage. Le vert du combi short va super bien avec mon maillot de 2017.
My mother doesn’t like it when I wear shorts. For her I created the second look – from the beach to the restaurant. The green of the playsuit looks ace with last years swimming costume.

Cette été j’ai commencé de porter des shorts. Et quoi a dire? Les bébés n’ont pleurent, pas des accidents dans la rue dans ma route. La plus grande partie des gens ne s’intéressent pas. Le monde se tourne encore. Sans arrêter. Ne lasse pas ta peur gagner!
This summer I started to wear shorts outside. And what can I say? Small children didn’t cry in terror. As far as I can tell I caused to accidents in the streets. Most people just didn’t care. The world didn’t stop turning. Don’t let your fear win!

C’est le 16me du mois et en juillet le French Curves retournent avec Resort Queen. C’est quoi? Pour moi c’est sont les looks entre pool et bar. Parfaite pour une ile grecque.
It’s the 16th of the month and the French Curves return with Resort Queen. What is that? For me that are looks between pool and the bar. Perfect for a Greek island.
Es ist der 16. des Monats und die French Curves haben heute das Motto Resort Queen. Was das ist? Für mich sind das Looks zwischen Pool und Bar. Perfekt für eine griechische Insel.

C’est une coopération avec Yours Clothing. J’aime bien le style du chemise. Avec les broderies floral. Un peu 70s. Un peu folklorique. La chemise reviendra sur mon blog en septembre avec un look dirndl.
This is a corporation with Yours Clothing. I really like the style of the shirt. With the floral embroidery. A bit 70s. A bit boho. The shirt will return to my blog in September for a Dirndl look.
Yours Clothing will soon open a shop near me – I am already quite excited about that.
Das jetzt eine Kooperation mit Yours Clothing. Mir gefällt die Bluse sehr gut. Mit der floralen Stickereien. Etwas seventies. Etwas folkloristisch. Im September kommt die Bluse zurück auf meinen Blog für einen Dirndl Look.

French Curves: Candy et DIY your Closet Bonbon Fascinator

Thème du mars pour les French Curves est Candy. Comme les bonbons. Je n’a pas beaucoup des choses en couleurs bonbon. J’ai vendue cette robe là. Mais j’ai trouvé quelquechose dans ma garderobe.
Theme of the French Curves Fashion Challenge in March is Candy. As in Sweets. I don’t have a lot in candy colours. And I sold that dress. But I found something in my wardrobe.

Les pantoufles de Frollein von Sofa s’appellent Candy. Ils sont du velours (thème du février) rouge et ont des bonbons rose scintillant. J’adore la creativité de la Frollein. Elle fait des petits chapeaux et ils sont une veritable fête.
These Mules from Frollein von Sofa are called Candy. They are made of bright red velvet (february’s theme) and got lovely sparkling pink sweets on top. Anyway I adore the creativity of the Frollein. She makes striking and adorable mini hats. They are a veritable feast.

Un autre challenge était DIY your Closet de Kathastrophal et Mein Feenstaub. J’ai fait 8 fascinateurs et un demi chapeau pour ça en 2016. Cet an le nom à changée et il y a aussi dès thèmes. Moi je suis un peut „one-trick pony“ -toujours le même rengaine avec moi.
Another challenge was the DIY your Closet by Kathastrophal and Mein Feenstaub. I made 8 fascinators and a half hat for that in 2016. This year the name of the challenge changed and there are themes now. It is also more sewing related. And I am out – am probably too fmuch of a one trick pony for that.

Mais j’aime bien mes petits chapeaux. Le dernier est inspiré par la Frollein. Et je le fait pour le challenge Candy. Pas mal pour un vieux couverture d’un coussin et un morceau de cotton rose strié.
I’ll stick to my fascinators. I just like to make these mini hats. The latest one is inspred by the Frollein for the Candy challenge. Not bad for an old pillow case and a bit of stripey pink cotton.

Comme j’ai déjà dit je n’a pas beaucoup des choses en couleurs bonbon. Le rose fort va très bien avec le rouge vivant. Rose dans tout ses variations et noir sont toujours une bonne idée. Le top peplum et la jupe crayon sont très formal et un joli contraste avec les mules.
Like I already said before I don’t own a lot of things in candy colours. The bright pink works rather well with the vibrant red. Pink (in all of its shades)and black are always a good idea. The peplum top and the pencil skirt are quite formal and a nice contrast to the playful mules.

FrenchCurves: Velours – Velvet – Samt

C’est encore le 16me du mois et le temps pour le French Curves. Ce mois ça me fait grand plaisir d’être part dans le challenge.Aujourd’hui le thème est le velours. Un matériel ancien. Du rois. De la noblesse. Associé avec pompe, la demi monde, le théâtre.
It is once more the 16th of the months and time for the French Curves. Each month it gives me great pleasure to be part of the challenge. Today our theme is velvet. Velvet is an ancient material. Of kings. Of the nobility. Associated with pomp, the demi Monde, of the theatre.

Je n’ai pas beaucoup des choses en velours dans ma garde-robe. La robe est du Marks & Spencer, achetée en 2008. Le violet est plus sombre dans la vie que dans les photos.
I don’t have many velvet things in my wardrobe. This dress is from Marks & Spencer. I bought it in 2008. The violet is darker in real life than on these pics.

Le violet est aussi une couleur des pierres précieuses.Comme le foulard de Boden. Qui est un part de son héritage clothing. Avec des couleurs traditionnelles, une composition de velours en deux couleurs, soie brute, satin et tweed.
Violet or rather amethyst is one of the jewel colours. Like the scarf from Boden’s heritage line. A composition of two tones of velvet, raw silk, satin and tweed in traditional colours.

La couronne est „vrai vintage“. Un demi chapeau américain des années 1950. J’adore les chapeaux vintage. Ce jours j’ai une petite collection. Un mix de chapeaux des années 1950 (la plus grande part) et quelques des 1960 et des Fascinateurs nouveaux. Beaucoup de mes Fascinateurs moderne j’ai fait moi-même.
The velvet crown is real vintage. A half hat from the 1950s. I so love my vintage hats. I even got quite a collection these days. A mix from hats mainly from the 1950s, few from the 1960s and new Fascinators. I made at least half of them myself.

Le sac à main est un carlin de tweed. Produit par FuzzyNation. Mais ils n’existent plus. Il y a dix ans qu’ils ont eu son moment. Je l’appelle Monty. Monty, der Mops – Monty, le carlin.
The handbag is a tweed pug. Produced by FuzzyNation. They don’t exist anymore. They had their moment about ten years ago. I call the bag Monty. Monty, der Mops – Monty the Pug. Would we still live in the U.K. he’d be Pickles the Pug.

French Curves: Metallique – Golden Girl

Un autre mois est passé et c’est encore le temps pour le French Curves. En décembre c’est toujours un peu glamoureux. Aujourd’hui le thème est métallique. Ahhh. J’ai pensé à la jupe d’or d‘Elli de Curvyfashionelli. Et elle m’a la louée. Ces jours je l’achète moi-même.
Another month has passed and it is time again for the French Curves. Every December it is a bit more glamorous. Today the theme is metallic. Awwwwww. I thought right away about the golden skirt deom Elli from Curvyfashionelli. And she lend it to me. These days I got my own one.

La jupe est très bien pour Noël, les fêtes et le nouvel an. Elle est super glam. Le décembre est pour moi un mois avec beaucoup des occasions pour la mode festive . Et ça me plaît beaucoup.

Aussi c’est un de nous deux mois les plus sombres dans l’année. Les lumières pour Noel m‘ aide beaucoup. Le janvier est pour moi le plus dur. Mais encore on a les lumières. Et cette jupe est lumineuse aussi.
It is also one of the two darkest months of the year. The Christmas lights help me a lot with that. January is the really tough month. But for now there are the lights. And that radiant skirt.

Le fascinateur est de l’année dernière, faites pour le nouvel an.

La jupe d’or est matelassé. Laqualite est bien et lourd.

French Curves: Les Carreaux – Check it Out!

Ce mois le thème du French Curves est les carreaux. Moi j’adore les carreaux. Les vichys, mais les tartans en particulier. L’année dernière aux courses du trot, pour décorer l’arbre de Noel ou dans une tenue traditionnelle.
This month of the French Curves are checks. Gingham or tartans I love them all. Specially tartans. Last year at the trot races. To decorate the Christmas tree. In a traditional outfit.

Les carreaux grands me souviennent aux pique-niques, les petites aux ingénieurs, lequels en multicouleurs á l’Écosse. Ils sont versatiles. On peut être princesse et bien habillée pour le métier.

The big checks remind me of picnics. The small ones of engineers. The multicoloured ones of Scotland. They are versatile. You can be a princess or just dress for the job.

Pour ce moins j’ai choisi une jupe. La première tenue est pour un jour régulier dans l’office. Avec une chemise de pin-up et la veste tailleur qui va avec la jupe de pied de coq. Il est trop froid pour porter les collants résille ces jours. Un collant plus ou moins aux couleurs de ma peau et on pense que je sens pas le froid.

This month I decided to go for a skirt. The first outfit is for a regular job in the office. With a pinup blouse and a jacket matching the similar skirt in dogtooth. It is too cold to wear the lace tights by themselves these days. So I am also wearing some opaque tights or less in the same colour as my skin underneath. Though as if the cold couldn’t bother me.

L’autre tenue est pour rencontre des amies. Le t-shirt est inscrit avec „I love shopping“. J’ai l’achète en 2005. Un peu redondant si on me connaît, mais je le trouve génial et fun. Les cœurs roses sont clips pour les chaussures. Kitsch. Amusant.

The other outfit is to meet up with the girls. „I love shopping“ is written on my T-shirt. I bought it in 2005. A bit redundant if you know me I want but I think it is awesome and fun. The pink hearts are shoe clips. Kitsch and amusing.

French Curves: Le Bomber féminin

Le “Bomber” dans une silhouette féminisé“ – gnahh. Un vraie challenge pour moi dans le moins consacré à la mobilisation autour du cancer du sein. L’octobre rose.
The feminin styled bomber. Ohhh my. A real challenge for me in this month dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Pinkoctober.

Pour le thème j’ai pensé dans l’instant à ma robe rose avec des points noirs. Pink Lady en bomber. J’ai essayé deux bombers d’Asos. Le noir est trop longue, trop grand. Dommage parce qu’un autre vest „casual“ est une bonne idée.
For that motto I instantly thought about my pink dress with the black dots. Pink lady in a bomber jacket. I tried to bombers form Asos. The black one I which I hoped would be a good addition to my wardrobe. A much needed casual jacket. However it was too long. Too big. Bugger

Le bomber rose est super-coupée pour moi. J’aime la couleur. Un rose blush. Mais ça va pas avec ma robe rose. Pas du tout. Bien. Change du plan. Gris et rose sont toujours bien ensemble.
The pink bomber is actually cut for me. I love the colour. A blush pink. But it didn’t go with the dress I picked. Not at all. Change of plans – grey and pink always go together.

Le col et les manchettes sont noir et blanc. Et j’aime bien des assecoires noir et blanc. Comme cette écharpe d’Alice au pays des merveilles.
The cuffs on this jacket are black and white. And I love black and white accessories. Like this Alice in Wonderland scarf.

Le tweed de la robe est un bon contraste avec le satin très lumineux. Un peu trop lumineux pour moi. Le bibi est dans la même couleur que la veste. Les gants en pied de coq sont nouveaux aussi et ils me plaisent beaucoup.
The tweed fabric of the dress is an excellent contrast to the shiny satin. A bit too shiny for me. The beret picks up the colour from the jacket. The dogtooth gloves are new and I really, really like them.

French Curves: Team Playsuit

Le thème French Curves en septembre c’est le combi vs la salopette. Gnaaaahhh. La seule salopette que j’ai et moi sommes pas des amis. Et j’ai déjà montré mes combis pour l’été en août. Mais j’ai oublié quelque chose. J’ai un autre combi. Un peu oublié.
The French Curves‘ theme for sepemter is the playsuit vs the jumpsuit. The only jumpsuit I own and I are not exactly friends. And I already showed my summer playsuits in August. But I forgot something. I have another playsuit. A forgotten one.

Vendu chez ASOS pour la soirée dans les soldes d’été en 2015. J’ai la porte seulement comme pyjama. Les matériaux sont en vraie vie trop t-shirt pour mon goût pour dehors. Especiallement les shorts.
Sold at ASOS Curve in the summer sales of 2015 for a night out. So far I only wore this as a pyjama. The materials are a bit too t-shirty for my taste for outside. Especially the shorts.

Pour la challenge mon objectif était de créer une tenue qui est aussi moi avec ce que j’ai. Avec la blouse de Hell Bunny c’est plus habillé. J’adore le mix du chiffonsemi-transparent avec le boucle propre. La blouse a c’est classique secrétaire chic. Le ceinture montre ma taille qui est un peu perdu dans le Combi. Le sac à main et les talons sont très boho.
For the challenge my objective was to create an outfit with things already in my closet that is also me. With the Hell Bunny blouse it feels more dressy. I love the mix of the semi-transparent chiffon with the proper bow. The blouse has the classic secretary chic. The belt shows off my waist which is a bit lost in this play suit. The fake mongolian fur handbag and the heels are quite boho.

French Curves: Poolside et Playsuit

L’été et le swimming pool (ou la piscine/ plage/ lac/ fleuve) sont une combinaison extra. Quand le soleil brille dur, la chaleur danse sur l’asphalt baigner (ou même nager) est pour moi à meilleure chose pour se fraîchir. Dehors le pool je préfère de rester sur l’ombre.
Summer and pools are always a good idea – even if the pool is the beach, by the lake, a river or a lido. When the sun shines mercilessly and the heat danses on the tarmac I love to go for a dip (or even swimming) to cool me down. Outside the pool I prefer to stay in the shade.

Voilà mon maillot de bain traditionnel. L’année avant j’ai trouvé une très jolie et rétro robe de bain. Super-chouette dehors l’eau. Mouillé comme un sac. Pas bien dans le courant. Et si on quitte l’eau – ce n’est pas „drip-drip“ mais une petite deluge.
This is my much loved traditional bathing suit. Last year I found a very pretty and retro bathing dress. Super cute outside the water. Wet like a sack. Not good in currants either. And when I leave the water it don’t just dribble the amount of water looks more like beaching a whale.

Ça me plaît pas à moi et avec 4 épingles de nourrice c’est un crop top ajustée.
The playsuit is from LindyBop. I was a bit scared when I ventured out with it to the pool. I went by bus. But small children didn’t cry, teenies didn’t laugh and I even got a „hello sexy“. The top is meant to be knotted. Didn’t like that look on me and with 4 friendly safety pins it is now a fitted crop top.
