French Curves: Poolside et Playsuit

L’été et le swimming pool (ou la piscine/ plage/ lac/ fleuve) sont une combinaison extra. Quand le soleil brille dur, la chaleur danse sur l’asphalt baigner (ou même nager) est pour moi à meilleure chose pour se fraîchir. Dehors le pool je préfère de rester sur l’ombre.
Summer and pools are always a good idea – even if the pool is the beach, by the lake, a river or a lido. When the sun shines mercilessly and the heat danses on the tarmac I love to go for a dip (or even swimming) to cool me down. Outside the pool I prefer to stay in the shade.

Voilà mon maillot de bain traditionnel. L’année avant j’ai trouvé une très jolie et rétro robe de bain. Super-chouette dehors l’eau. Mouillé comme un sac. Pas bien dans le courant. Et si on quitte l’eau – ce n’est pas „drip-drip“ mais une petite deluge.
This is my much loved traditional bathing suit. Last year I found a very pretty and retro bathing dress. Super cute outside the water. Wet like a sack. Not good in currants either. And when I leave the water it don’t just dribble the amount of water looks more like beaching a whale.

Le playsuit est de LindyBop. Croyez- moi, j’ai eu peur quand j’ai porté ça la semaine dernièrepour aller à la piscine. Par le bus! Mais enfants n’ont pas commencé de pleurer, les teenies n’ont pas riet j’ai même entendu un „hello sexy“. La blouse est pour nouer. Ça me plaît pas à moi et avec 4 épingles de nourrice c’est un crop top ajustée.
The playsuit is from LindyBop. I was a bit scared when I ventured out with it to the pool. I went by bus. But small children didn’t cry, teenies didn’t laugh and I even got a „hello sexy“. The top is meant to be knotted. Didn’t like that look on me and with 4 friendly safety pins it is now a fitted crop top.

Wedding Belles – Rosen zur Hochzeit

When we did the „Best Dressed – wedding guest or formal summer outfit event“ with the German Curves I thought what a bugger – wayyy to early. Well, this was worth the wait. I believed I ran out of friends who get married a few years ago. But no, a few months back I got another invite. A well matched couple. Can’t say which I like better, bride or groom. The wedding took friends and me down south. Not all the way, just south of Frankfurt.

The setting for the registry wedding was the pretty Manor, Schloss Fechenbach, in Dieburg, a quaint little town. The reception in the evening was at a very nice and relaxed place. Food was excellent, we got drunk enough and danced till two.

My dress is a lovely and simple little number with chintzy roses. A bit kitsch, quite romantic. Neither black nor white. Cheerful. Had I known the bride wore navy I would have gone for something darker.

I love the boat neck. You can sit down opposite the strictest mother in law and you know when she frowns it won’t be because your boobs are spilling on the table from a strapless contortion that was never meant to contain anything more than a tiny peach, let alone two.

The hat has been around with the French Curves retro look and this pretty white dress with red dots. The porcelain brooch is vintage.

In summer I usually have a fan in my bag – and it was stuffy in the historic rooms and even stuffier outside. We always love the idea of a june wedding. Somehow we all tend to blend out that quite often it isn’t pleasant but hot outside. Hot and humid. The perfect weather to melt down.

It wasn’t just humid, we also had a bit of rain – this is where this pretty umbrella comes in handy. It is dainty enough to pass also as a parasol and doesn’t look like you are attending a funeral when it rains.

The bride’s bouquet was really pretty – way to pretty to be thrown around. This time the men had to jump – and one really made the effort!

French Curves: Minimalisme en Orange

J’adore le minimalisme. Dans l’architecture. Dans l‘ architecture du paysage et en jardin. Pour mes dessins je préfère des lignes simples. Mais quand je peux (où on me laisse) avec une prise d’humour. Dans la mode ce concept n’est pas le mien.
I love minimalism. In architecture, landscape and garden design. I prefer simple lines in my own creations. But with a bit of humour. In fashion that isn’t quite me.

La blogueuse qui fait ça par excellence est Isabel de Dressing Outside the Box. Son style réduit est toujours une inspiration. Miss Kittenheel est mix et match. Sans aucune doute. Ce mois le challenge de French Curves est tellement un challenge pour moi.

Orange n’est pas la première couleur associée au minimalisme. C’est le privilège de noir. La robe est peut-être la plus simple que j’ai dans ma garde-robe. Blanc est aussi une couleur forte en minimalise. Et orange et blanc en combinaison me souviennent toujours aux années 1960te.
Orange isn’t one of the first colours that is associated with minimalism. That’s blacks prerogative. The dress is probably the one with the simplest cut in my wardrobe. White is also heavily associated with minimalism. Orange and white in combination always have a strong 1960s vibe.

Les lunettes en blanc sont entre mes favoris. Les talons sont classiques mais je ne suis pas sûr qu’ils sont sauf leur couleur appropriée.Le clutch est un peu dada et il y a toujours des grandes choses ditdans. Le bananier dans le fond est plus qu’un peu trop tropique. Mais je l’adore.
The white sunglasses are among my favourites. The heels are classic but I am not sure if they are apart from their colour appropriate. The clutch is a bit dada and of course there are always great things inside. The banana in the back is stunningly tropical. I love it.

German Curves: Road Trip and Brexit

Alles gepackt und reisefertig? Thema heute bei den German Curves: Road Trip. Irgendwie ist das ganze Leben eine Reise. Zumindest bei mir. Köln, Paris, Manchester und nun im Ruhrgebiet. Keine Städtereisen, sondern Orte, an denen ich zumindest vorübergehend gelebt habe.
All packed and ready to go? Today’s theme with the German Curves is Road Trip. But life is a journey. At least mine is. Cologne, Paris, Manchester and now Bochum in the Ruhr area. Not City trips or short breaks but places I called home.

Ich hatte vor einigen Jahren das Gefühl gehabt in England angekommen zu sein. Bis mir auffiel das ich immer so kleine stichelnde Bemerkungen machte. Ihr kennt das, beim Grillen, einer Firmenfeier oder sonst wo – da gibt es viel zu oft dieses eine Pärchen. Mal ist er es, mal sie. Ständig Bemerkungen, die den Partner klein machen. Getarnt als Witz. Klassische Halbscherze. Und so war das nach mit mir nach fast vier Jahren auf der Insel. Und dann wurde es Zeit zu gehen.
Some year ago I feel like I arrived in England. Until I realised that I always made these snidy little remarks. You know that from parties – quite often there is that one couple. Sometimes it’s him, sometimes her. Constand belittling comments thinly clad as jokes at the expense of the other. Classic half jokes. After almost four years in the UK. It was time to go.

Willkommen habe ich mich im Vereinigten Königreich immer gefühlt. Optisch, abgesehen von meinem Kleidungsstil, falle ich da aber auch nicht auf. Sprachlich damals auch nicht. Und auch heute betrachte ich mich noch als bilinugal. Und jetzt hat meine alte Flamme entschieden, das sie Leute wie mich eigentlich gar nicht will. Das tut weh.
I always felt welcome in the United Kingdom. I don’t stand out there (apart from the way I dress these days). Not with looks nor with my language skills. And now that old flame decided it doesn’t want the likes of me anymore. That stings.

Ich war einer von den zahllosen Migranten, die jahrelang nur in das System eingezahlt haben. Habe mein Geld vor Ort ausgegeben. Brav meine Steuern gezahlt.Ich war im Pub zur Quiz Night, am 5. November zum Feuerwerk, zu Picknicks im Park. Und doch wenn Eurovision war habe ich mit Freunden aus halb Europa vor dem Fernseher gesessen.
I was one of many migrants who just paid for years into the system. Spent my money locally. Paid my taxes. Went to the pub on quiz night, to the fireworks on bonfire night, to picknics in the park. When the Eurovision was on I sat with friends from all over Europe in front of the tv. Together.

Wenn der #Brexit kommt ist das so nicht mehr so einfach möglich. Traurig und wütend macht es mich, das jetzt erst viele Menschen googlen was der Austritt aus der EU für sie bedeutet. Was diese EU eigentlich ist. Überrascht hat mich das allerdings leider nicht. Ich war mit auch nicht sicher wie das Referendum ausgehen würde. So gar nicht. Der #Brexit war für mich leider immer eine Konstante, mit der man rechnen musste.
That won’t be able that easily after the #Brexit. It saddens and angers me that it is only now that many people in the UK google what leaving the EU actually means for them. What the EU actually is. It doesn’t surprise me though. I wasn’t sure about the outcome of the referendum. Not at all. The #brexit, the decision to leave the EU was always something that had to be considered.

Nach wenigen Tagen scheint das vereinigte Königreich jetzt auseinander zu brechen und es gibt dort viele Stimmen das Referendum zu ignorieren. Traurig. Denn Demokratie nimmt immer immensen Schaden, wenn man solange abstimmt bis einem das Ergebnis passt. Mit dem Recht (und für mich der Bürgerpflicht) zu wählen kommt eine Verantwortung. Protestwahlen sind nicht sonderlich clever, denn sie geben meist denen Oberwasser, die es am wenigsten verdienen. Im schlimmsten Fall noch enormen Schaden anrichten.
After a few days the United Kingdom seems to fall apart and there are many voices to ignore the referendum. Alarming. Democracy suffers greatly if you keep voting until you like the outcome. With the right (and fpr my civil duty) to vote comes a responsibility. Protest choices are hardly ever clever ones. In many cases that gives people the upper hand who least deserve it. In worst case wreak tremendous havoc.

Mit der Queen haben die Briten eine erfahrene Gallionsfigur. Am Anfang ihrer Regentschaft gab es noch ein Empire – heute ist zu befürchten das nur ein Rest England und Wales übrig bleiben. Schottland möchte in der EU bleiben. Spanien interessiert sich für Gibraltar. In Nordirland ist das Karfreitagsabkommen gefährdet.
With queen Elisabeth II the british have an experienced figure head when it comes to this. At the beginning of the reign she still had an empire – now only England and Wales might remain. Sotland wants to stay in the EU. Spain is interested in Gibraltar. The Goodfriday agreement in Northern Ireland is endangered.

Bewegte Zeiten. Geschuldet dem Hochmut einiger Politiker und einer „ihr könnt uns mal“ Einstellung vieler Wähler. Beides gar nicht so weit von uns und dem Rest Europas entfernt. Die Aufbruchsstimmung der frühen 1990ger Jahre ist einer Katerstimmung gewichen. Und doch ist dieses Europa für mehr gut als zollfreie Einkäufe in Mitgliedsstaaten. Wir haben eine der längsten Friedenszeiten im Kern-Geltungsbereich der EU. Das war nicht immer so. Wir werden sehen wo die Reise hingeht.
Interesting times. All because of the arrogance of a few politicians and an „up yours“ attitude of many voters. Both not really that far away from us and the rest of Europe. The excitement of the early 1990s has given way to a massive hangover. But this Europe is good for more than tax-free goods. We have in it’s core zone one of this continent’s longest times of peace. That wasn’t always so in history. But we’ll see where this road takes us.

Es ist heiß und schwül. Mehr Hong Kong oder zumindest Tropenhaus als Darmstadt. Mein Road Trip hat Freunde und mich für eine Hochzeit gegen Süden geführt. Ich mag kitschige Souvenirs.
It is hot and humid. More like Hong Kong or the hothouse then Darmstadt. My road trip took friends and me south for a wedding. I like tacky souvenirs.

Das Armband ist von meiner Ma aus den 1950gern. Andenken an Reisen nach Borkum, die Nordsee und ein geteiltes Berlin. Die Anhänger sind meine. Den ersten bekam ich von den Eltern beim Besuch einer Burg. Die anderen habe ich mir gekauft – bis auf den ersten, alles Orte, an denen ich gelebt habe.
The bracelet is from my mum from the 1950s. Souvenirs from trips to Borkum, the north sea and a divided Berlin. The charms are mine. Got the first one from my parents visiting a caslte. Bought the others myself. All places (apart from the fiist) I have lived. Called home.

Hallo ihr Lieben – heute gibt bei mir es etwas Grossartiges zu gewinnen. Verabschiedet Euch von aufgescheuerten Schenkeln. The gorgeous dress is from Stop Staring. For a very long time I just felt like the kid in the candy shop. Pressing my nose at the window. Drooling. But the shop is closed. All those shiny things before my eyes. But unreachable.

Dann fuhr ich im Januar zur Fashionweek nach Berlin. Bei der Panorama habe ich die Vertreter von Stop Staring vom Fruchthaus kennengelernt. Wie immer habe ich sehnsüchtig nach den Kleidern geschaut. Etwas defensiv. Bis Armin, der Eigentümer mich fragte welche Grösse ich denn trage – es gäbe da noch einige Kleider im Lager, die passen könnten. Prompt hat er den Kollegen angerufen die für mich heraus zu suchen und ich bin dann einmal quer durch das eisige, winterliche Berlin gefahren.
Then I went to Berlin Fashion Week in Janurary. At the Panorama I met Stop-Staring’s German representative das Fruchthaus. As usually I pined over the dresses, a bit defensive. Until Armin, the owner asked fo rmy size and told me to get to the shop – they’d still have some of the bigger sizes in storage. He called the colleague straight away to get them out and off I went through an icy, snow coated Berlin.

Ich war dann fast zwei Stunden im Laden. So viele Pin-Up-Kleider in meiner Grösse habe ich noch nie vorher anprobieren können. Fünf oder sechs klingen für einige von Euch nach nicht sonderlich viel. Aber ich bin im dem Segment schon ziemlich am Ende der Fahnenstange.
I spent two hours there. I never tried on that many pin-up dresses in my life before – five or six might not sound a big deal to someone of a regular size. But I am a larger plus size.

Ich war schwer versucht Tatyana’s Vickie zu kaufen – aber eigentlich wollte ich das nicht in Schwarz. Gekauft habe ich dieses rasante Kleid in Pflaume, das direkt aus einer der ersten Staffeln von Mad Men stammen könnte. Das gefaltete Dekolleté ist einfach ein Hingucker. Auch wenn es so ausgefüllt ist, wie bei mir. Die Stop-Staring-Kleider sind nicht preiswert. Sie sind aber ihr Geld wert und wurden in den USA gefertigt. Die Schnitte sind gut und raffiniert. Mein Mad-Syle kann sowohl im Alltag, als auch für schickere Anlässe getragen werden.
I was most tempted to get the Tatyana’s Vickie. But I got this dashing Mad-Men styled dress in plum. The folded cleavage is ever so pretty. Even as much filled out as on me. The Stop-Staring dresses don’t come cheap. They are made in the US. The styles are good and clean. And my Mad Dress can be easily dressed up or down. Always handy in this country!

Ladies Day 2016 – The best Vintage Hats at the Races

Lange erwartet und dann war es am 11.06.2016 endlich soweit: der Ladies Day startete mit der ersten Vintage Corner des Krefelder Rennclubs. Etwa 6200 Besucher sorgten bei gutem Wetter an der Galopprennbahn für einen Hauch von Ascot.
Finally and long awaited it was time for the Ladies Day at the racecourse in Krefeld on the 11th of June 2016. About 6200 gave their best to bring a touch of Ascot to this beautiful racecourse in Germany.

Etwas kleiner als erhofft war unsere Vintage Corner – Karen (hier links im Bild) von Tate Millinery mit zauberhaften Hüten im Look der 1920-1950er Jahre hatte als einzig verbleibender Stand die Stellung gehalten. Der Vintage Flaneur, das monatlich erscheindene Retro-Mode und Lifestlye-Zeitschrift musste leider kurzfristig zu unser aller Bedauern absagen.
A bit smaller than expected was our Vintage Corner – Karen (on the left) from Tate Millinery with her charming hats in a 1920s to 1950s look did a sterling performance and held fort. Unfortunately the Vintage Flaneur, the monthly German vintage and lifestyle magazine had to cancel on short notice to our and their sincere regret.

Der Hutwettbewerb war bei Sonnenschein wesentlich besser besucht als im (regnerischen) Vorjahr – die Jury musste sich aus über 40 Beiträgen entscheiden. Keine leichte Wahl und so wurde auch der Sonderpreis für den schönsten Vintage-Hut (Original oder Repro) aufgeteilt.
The hat comepition in bright sunlight was not surprisingly much better attended than last year in the rain. The jury had a tough time do decide and that is why the vintage price (original or repro) was split up.

Die glücklichen Gewinnerinnen waren Gabriele Roth aus Dinslaken (im Bild links), mit dem Kleid nach Wahl von Dolly and Dotty und Elisabeth Bröcking aus Erkrath (rechts im Bild) mit dem Fascinator von Miss Kittenheel. Beide perfekt gestylt – kein Vintage-Look, sondern authentisch in Originalen.
The lucky winning ladies were Gabriele Roth (left) with the dress of choice by Dolly and Dotty and Elisabeth Bröcking (right) who won my fascinator. Both perfectly styled – not in a repro look but in authentic originals.

Das Kleid von Dolly and Dotty ist auch schon ausgesucht und ist noch unterwegs zu seiner neuen Besitzerin, die hoffentlich damit viel Freude haben wird.
The dress from Dolly and Dotty is already on its way and should arrive shortly. We hope that our winner will have much joy wearing it.

Der zweite Teil des Vintage-Preises war dieser sommerliche Fascintaor mit Äpfeln, Beeren und einer kleinen Ripsschleife.
The second part of the vintage price was this summery fascinator with apples, berries and a small bow.

Und noch mehr Hüte – diese zauberhafte und humorvolle Variante ist von Una Geiger. Ein Rennen im Rennen auf einem Hut aus den 1940ger Jahren. Für mich einer der ausgefallensten Hüte des Tages.
And even more hats- this charming and humorous creation was made by Una Geiger. A race within the races on a 1940s base. Definitely one of the most striking and original hats of the day.

Von vorne schlicht offenbart sich die ganze Pracht dieses Hutes im Stil der 1950ger erst von hinten. Prächtig geschmückt mit Rosen und Beeren ist diese Kreation aus Meisterhand von Ricarda von Mein wunderbarer Hutsalon. Ricarda bietet auch Seminare und Workshops zum Thema Hut an. Mich interessiert besonders „Shape up your Hat“, Ich habe vor einiger Zeit eine besonders bedauernswerte Hutkreation erstanden, die aufgearbeitet werden muss.
Quite clean from the front this hat is a real showstopper from the back. Ricarda from „my wonderful hat shop“ made this 1950s creation adorned with berries and roses. She is a certified master milliner and offers hat workshops. I find the „shape up your hat“ most interesting since I recently bought a rather sad 1950s half hat that needs a serious makeover.

Mein Outfit des Tages – Pünktchen gehen immer. Bei Dolly and Dotty gibt es ein ganz ähnliches Kleid, Lola in Retro-Grün und in einem dunkleren Forstgrün – beide leider fast ausverkauft. Lola gibt es insgesamt in 19 Farben.
My outfit of the day – if in doubt wear dots. Dolly and Dotty has a very similar style – Lola in retro green and in forest green – both almost sold out. All in all you can get this style in 19 colours.

Dazu trage ich einen meiner vielen Boleros, diesmal in Puder. Zum rustikalen Look tragen die bewährten, robusten Absatzschuhe und die Kuh-Clutch bei. Blockabsätze sind halt für alle Arten von Untergründen gut – auch bei Kies und Rasen. Der Fascinator und das Seidentuch mit dem Jagdmotiv sind Originale aus den 1950gern.
Once again I wear one of my many shrugs – this time in blush. The surdy heels are the sensible choice when you also have to walk across the lawn or on gravel. The cow clutch adds to that rustic look. Fascinator and hunting themed silk scarf are both 1950s originals.

Es war ein wunderschöner Tag – wir kommen wieder. Vielleicht ergänzen wir nächstes Jahr die Vintage Corner nicht nur um ein paar Stände – sondern auch noch um ein Picknick. Es gibt da noch einen charmanten Pavillon, der genutzt werden will.
It was a grand day out and we will return. Next year a few more stalls would be good and possibly a Picknick. There is this really charming old band stand on the grounds that just would like to be used again.

Oh, là, là – le rétro est le theme du mois pour le French Curves. J’adore le (new) look des années cinquante – les pin-ups, les jupons, l’elegance.

La vie a peu à peu retournée à la normalite apres la guerre. On a rêvé des places loin et exotiques. L’italie était une place comme ça, especiallement Capri et Venise. La ville des gondoles – Venise et le motif de l’impriment de ma robe. J’ai aussi deux robes avec un plage au sud: une robe en style des 50s en bleu et une plus courte et 60s.
Life had returned bit by bit to normality after the war. People dreamed of faraway and exotic places. Italy was one of these dream destinations, especially Capri and Venice. The city of the canals and gondolas – Venice is the motif printed on my dress. I have also two summer dresses with southern seasides: a 50s one and a shorter and straight one in a 60s style.

My grandmother bought three murano glass necklaces on her trip to Venice in the early 80s. Presents for my cousins and me. Mine is the only one left. The others got lost over time. I found the enamel bracelet at a local flea market. The adorable litte hat was made for me by Tate Millinery. The orignial is black.

Fancy Friday: Preparing for Ladies Day

Ich freue mich schon so – morgen, am Samstag, den 11.Juni 2016, findet auf der Krefelder Rennbahn eine kleine, feine Vintage Corner im Rahmen des Ladies Day statt. Der Ladies Day ist inspiriert von den englischen Pferderennen und somit eine großartige Gelegenheit, ein schickes Outfit in Kombination mit einem Hut oder Hütchen auszuführen UND es gibt einen Hutwettbewerb mit einem Sonderpreis für den schönsten Vintage-Hut – es gibt ein Kleid nach Wahl des englischen Retrolabels Dolly and Dotty, einen Fascinator von Miss Kittenheel und eine Flasche Sekt.
I am so excited – tomorrow, on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 is finally my little Vintage Corner on Ladies Day at the racecourse in Krefeld. Like the well known Ladies Days in the UK it is a great opportunity to dress up a little and wear a hat or fascinator. There is a special price for the best Vintage Hat – a dress of your choice by Dolly and Dotty, a fascintaor from Miss Kittenheel and a bottle of bubbly.

The hat comepetition is at the saddle rink directly after the 3rd race around 1625h. The lucky winners will be announced after the 4th race, shortly after five.

Den Fascinator habe ich im Dezember bei Alternate Normality erworben und im Januar das LindyBop-Kleid im Sale. Eigentlich wollte ich noch Sandalen zum Look tragen, aber später, genauer gesagt kurz nach dem letzten Bild hat es geschüttet, als gäbe es kein Morgen mehr. Nicht so sexy. Miss Summerfruits sah innerhalb von 10 Minuten wie ein begossener Pudel aus. Öhem… positiv ist – das Kleid ist aus einem Baumwollstretch, der auch nass nicht transparent wird! Ich habe das mal für Euch ausgetestet.
I got the fascinator in December at Alternate Normality and the dress in the excellent January Sales at LindyBop.I planned to wear sandals with the outfit but luckily I didnt’t. After the last pic it started raining in earnest. Not just cats and dogs but cows, too. Within 10 minutes Miss Summerfruits looked liked a drowned rat. Which is never a sexy look. Ach, well – at least the dress isn’t transparent when wet. I tested that for you.

Ü30-Blogparade Black & White

This is the ü30 blogparade „black and white“ entry with the retro touch. Black and white always, always reminds me of the silver screen. Vintage Vamps and pin ups. Humphrey bogart, Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, a lanky Jimmy Steward. It’s dancers, detectives and dames. Mystery and suspense. Double entendres and frivolous fun. And I try to make it all work in a single outfit. I fail epically at the detective bit though.
Das ist der Beitrag der ü30 Challenge mit dem Retro-Touch. Schwarz-weiß erinnert mich immer an alte Filme. An Stars und Sternchen. An Humphrey Bogart, Ginger Rogers und Fred Astaire, den schlaksigen Jimmy Stewart. Das sind Revuegirls, Detektive und Damen mit wesentlich mehr Problemen, als es zunächst scheint. Filme voller Doppeldeutigkeiten und harmlosem Spaß, aber auch Spannung und Verschwörungen.

The suit is from the English retro and rockabilly label Dolly and Dotty who asked me if I’d like to show another outfit on my blog. In January I made a post with a red tartan dress and some traditional German clothing – the sound of music goes highland fling.
Das Kostüm ist von Dolly and Dotty. Das englische Rockabilly- und Retrolabel hatte mich gefragt, ob ich noch ein weiteres Outfit von Ihnen auf meinem Blog zeigen will. Im Januar habe ich bereits mit ihnen für ein Trachtenoutfit mit Vintagetouch kooperiert – Schottenkaro trifft auf Wolljanker.

The Alice jacket has 3/4 length sleeves. The dogtooth buttons are a super cute detail. It is longer in the front than the back, the tiniest bit too short for my seriously generous chest. It fits still perfectly. Yes, it’ll get lots of mileage with my wiggle dresses an pencil skirts.
Das Alice-Jäckchen hat 3/4 Ärmel. Die Knöpfe sind in Hahnentritt gehalten – ein schönes Detail. Insgesamt ist die Jacke vorne einen Hauch zu kurz für meine sehr grosse Oberweite. Es passt aber immer noch fast perfekt und wir befinden uns am Anfang einer langen Freundschaft. Besonders gut lässt sich die Jacke mit Etuikleidern und Bleistiftröcken kombinieren.

Talking about pencil skirts. Falda is one of the few items (as well the jacket) that didn’t really need to be altered. The length was perfect and for once it feels really high waisted. I had it nipped in at the hem for about an inch on each side. To make it extra wiggly.
Apropos Bleistiftröcke – Falda, der Rock, ist wie die Jacke eines der wenigen Dinge die prinzipiell nicht in die Änderung gemusst hätten. Die Rock- oder Saumlänge ist für mich optimal. Die hohe Taille ist gut ausgearbeitet. Trotzdem habe ich unten an den Seiten noch knapp 2-3cm wegnehmen lassen. Um die Silhouette noch zu verstärken.

Both jacket and skirt are well made. I like the material of both. The skirt seems a bit deerer materialwise. Even the lining has a very nice feel to it.
Jacke und Rock sind beide gut gemacht. Die Stoffe von beiden Teilen gefallen mir. Der Rock sieht etwas hochpreisiger aus. Auch das Futter fühlt sich gut an, das kommt auch nicht immer vor.

I admired that hat (or fascinator) for a very long time from afar on Sadie Walker in her stunning and colourful 1950s style. It is a bit larger than my usual fascinators. If you wonder if you should get it, do it. It’s worth to get on that waiting list. It packs very flat. An excellent choice for travelling and it adds instant glamour.
Den Hut habe ich ganz, ganz lange aus der Ferne an Sadie Walker mit ihrem flamboyanten 1950er Jahre-Stil bewundert. Jetzt wohnt er auch bei mir. Solltet ihr Euch fragen ob der bei Euch einziehen darf – kauft ihn. Er lässt sich super flach in die einpacken. Perfekt für unterwegs auf Reisen für ein wenig Instant-Glamour.
