Welcome to another round of German Curves . And welcome to autumn. My favorite season. In September I celebrate my love for traditional clothing. Albeit with a twist. Think the Sound of Music style Dirndl dresses and such.
Wilkommen zu einer neuen Runde bei den German Curves . Und hallo Herbst. Meine liebste Jahreszeit. Im September feiere ich meine Liebe zur traditionellen Kleidung. Allerdings mit Augenzwinkern. Ich liebe Dirndl – auf meine Weise.
Behütet has in German two meanings – it comes from wearing a hat (or bonnet) and also means sheltered. Because when you where able to afford a hat quite often you where. At least in the past. As in a few centuries ago.
Behütet hat ja bekanntermaßen zwei Bedeutungen. Und tatsächlich wer sich vor langer, langer Zeit einen Hut leisten konnte, war oft nicht nur vor der Sonne geschützt, sondern auch vor manchen Realitäten des Lebens.
The hat of my choice is an original 1950s hat. Real vintage. It has that hunting vibe and is perfect for fall or an autumnal look.
Der Hut meiner Wahl ist ein Original aus den 1950gern. Vintage. Ein keckes Hütchen im Jagd-Look. Perfekt für den Herbst.
The dress is from LindyBop. I bought it from another blogger. The cleavage is super low and I need to ear something underneath or my bra shows. Really shows. That’s why I prefer to wear it as a skirt. With a top or a blouse over it.
Das Kleid ist von LindyBop. Ich habe es einer andern Bloggerin abgekauft. Der Ausschnitt ist super tief. Zu tief um es so zu tragen. Denn der BH schaut raus. Von blitzen kann da keine Rede mehr sein. Also trage ich es in dem einen Look als Rock. Mit einem Top (oder einer Bluse) darüber.
I quite like it for a cheap and cheerful dirndl surrgogate. As a good dirndl, even a vintage one doesn’t come cheap. So, if funds are short and you dont have lots of events to wear a traditional alpine dress this will do. I dare say even in Munich for hte Oktoberfest.
Ich finde es macht sich aber auch gut als Ersatz-Dirndl. Denn ein gutes Dirndl ist nicht gerade preiswert. Auch kein gebrauchtes. Wenn also das Budget klein ist oder es kaum spätere Gelegenheiten zum Tragen alpiner Trachten gibt geht das auch zur Oktoberfest-Party. Wahrscheinlich auch fürs Münchener Oktoberfest, die Wiesn.
I am not a big of frilly dirndl blouses and puff sleeves, so I wear a pin-up blouse underneath. The matching flower wreath or headband is also on the low budget side and from Claire’s.
Ich bin kein Fan von Dirndlblusen mit Rüschen und Puffärmeln, deswegen trage ich eine Pin-Up.Bluse drunter. Der passende Blumenkranz ist von Claire’s und war sehr preiswert.
I don’t like the huge floral headbands you can buy, most of them look rather tacky. And you might get some sniggers from the sniggers from the locals and the comment of being dressed up like a „Pfingstoche“.
Ich bin kein Fan von den ausladenden Blumenkr#nzen oder -haarbändern die es oft zu kaufen gibt. Vor Ort kann dann schnell das Wort „Pfingstochse“ fallen. Das muss nciht sein.
