On the Go: Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! For some dark vibes in the office. I don’t think it looks too costumey – with a regular handbag 😉

Last year at Halloween – with pink hair.

My confidant looks cool – but he isn’t very roomy.

Autumn Colours: Mustard Yellow Dress Suit

Happy Blog-Birthday to me. Miss Kittenheel turned 4. it has been quite a ride and I still have bags of fun. At first it was just friends and family that dropped by. Some readers come and go. Others have stayed for a while and others came to stay. And some of you became dear friends. It has been a pleasure.
Herzlichen Blog-Geburtstag an mich.

I am still not tired to think about new looks and themes for my blog. Autumn colours are a recurring theme. Like one of my first looks in mustard yellow. I love the freedom of making my own choices. That this blog is me. Without consideration how much clicks what will bring.
Ohne zu berücksichtigen was wieviele Zugriffe bekommt.

I finally bought the dress suit in mustard yellow. I also have this in light blue. The combo is really pretty but it gets hardly no mileage. The yellow is less dressy. The fur cuffs are vintage and have been on my blog a few times, like with the Russian princess look.

This October the theme of the French curves is yellow vs orange. They are the colours of the sun as well as quintessential autumn colors. The colours of the dieing leaves. Of nature’s grand finale in our climate.

Moi j’aime bien l’orange.
I really like orange. Such a striking colour. Here with a minimalism look or last year with an outfit for an urban huntress. More traditional with florals or a bit eccentric with jolly flamingos.

But yellow is true love. From pastel to a honey the with a hint of orange to a deep mustard yellow. The two looks go very well with some heirlooms from my grandmothers.

And the there is the pic of the baby boy godchild. In a perfectly instagramable room (and a very good exhibiton) I took happy baby pics and somewhat forgot my own. This snapshot is made by a good friend.

Oktoberfest Craze meets Gingham Love

A final contribution to my Oktoberfest Craze series I usually reserve for September. Gingham, checks and tartans work well with a traditional (mock) dirndl look. A real dirndl is still a costly thing despite cheap knock-ups. So this pretty Heidi dress with the deep square neckline fits the bill pretty well.

I combined the dress with a traditional Russian scarf and a vintage tapestry bag. The floral crown is a cheap one. If you are not going to a country wedding but the fair and the more rustic beer tents.

Trop traditionnel. Pour moi malheureusement sans humeur. Trop directement du magasin. Sans ajouter des touches personnel.
September is for me the month of Octoberfest. The Bavarian style is in general presented as too sickly sweet. Too traditional. Unfortunately too often straight out of the shop. Without adding personal touches. There isn’t enough humour, a pinch of salt.

Here is my fun look. For the fairground. For the ferris wheel. With a very traditional handbag. With a retro skirts using a scarf as an apron.

J’ai eu des shirts comme „I wanted to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkling“ (j’aimerais de conquérer le monde mais quelque chose brillant m’a distrait.)
I adult Immortal t-shirt as much as I hate it. It is an ambivalent relationship. I had shirts like „I wanted to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkling“. And I still have the shirt „Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend“ although I think real friends are better than precious stones.

Heimatliebe goes Brit Chic

Autumn is finally here and it is my favourite season. The days are still warm but there is a crispness there. The look is more English countryside than I thought but the Bavarian styled half hat goes really smooth along with it.

The roses top reminds me of a Bavarian dirndl top. I love the pattern and some of you might remember I got it as a dress, too. I prefer to wear the blouse without the pussy bow.

The wonderful Ricarda Engelsberger from my Wunderbarer Hutsalon helped me to create the half hat in one of her upcycling workshops from a very oldschool trilby with Bavarian styled trimmings.

The brooches are vintage – the little edelweiss brooches are a pair – but bought individually. The large brooch is emroidered and probably dating from the 1970s or early 1980s.

Oktoberfest Craze: Dirndl meets Wanderlust

September is Dirndl time on my blog. An entire month to have a dab at traditions with a twist and a sip of vintage – time for Oktoberfest Craze. Traditions are fine but the world is and was constantly changing. It helps to add a little fun.

Today you get two looks – based on one piece of clothing. A traditional velvet corsage. Paired with an African Wax skirt from Gaëlle Prudenico’s Ibiloba line and a classical stripey shirt.

The other look is an ecclectic mix: Russian winter princess and a touch of British tweed – the pics were taken in mid Wales.

The mini doctor bag is vintage and I think I got it even before or shortly after I was twenty. I know I already have it fo rmore than twenty years. The black persian fur bag is also a muff. It is a vintage find I got a few years ago. The traditional basket is more than a hundred years old and from the black forest. It was a present from my aunt to my grandmother.

On the Go: GeekStyle – Day of the Dachshund

Last installment for this month’s theme #GeekStyle – it’s the day of the Dachshund. It is my kind of animal print – yes, with actual animals on it. Last time you saw the shirt on this blog was in september 2015 for a round of Oktoberfest Craze. Which is strange as I wear it quite regulary.

I got brooch Spiffy the sausage dog in the same year for Christmas. It doesn’t get as much mileage as I thought it would but I still love the silly little Erstwilder brooch.

This is a look I wear to the office. A bit preppy, a bit excentric. I’d even wear that to a casual planning meeting with my favorite architects. The black bag is my staple handbag for meetings and have worn it to all my job interviews.

FrenchCurves: Naughty or Nice – Geek Style

For my outfit for Valentine’s Day I chose team nice. A sweet geekstyle look. I prefer that over sexy. I feel more at eae that way. The friend who took the pictures was quite surprised about the theme and my approach. Well, not what cam to his mind what I’d wear for a date.

I can do naughty, too. But this look is for a nice movie or restaurant date. Nothing obvious. But very me. I don’t really like Valentine’s Day. I much prefer it when people celebrate their own anniverseries and not when everyone and it’s mom are out and about.

On the Go: Urban Hunter

The autumn chills are turning into winter. This is a hunting outfit. An urban one.
Dressed down with a beret. For those chilly waits at the station. When the train is late because there are the wrong kinds of leaves on the track. And the pretty 1050s original hat. One of the first things I bought on Etsy. you have seen it here with my Boden squirrel dress and in September with a Dirndl look.
