Matchy, matchy – it would have been a shame to let the hem of my hell bunny cherry swing dress go to waste. And a girl can never have enough hats!

Christmas Bling

„Santa Baby, just slip a sable some bling under the tree, For me…Been an awful good girl…“
Today opens the Christmas market in town. The town centre is now full of little huts selling trinkets, artisanal stuff and lots of food – some is even pretty good! An entire alley (Glühweingasse!) is turned in to a mulled wine bar. Which is also the predominant drink you can get in town these days. You can drink in on an old school merry-go-round, in a giant Christmas pyramid and in front of dozens of huts. We even have a flying Santa Show!

About time to get some things matching the madness! Let me start with this – no matter how ironic you wear them, I am not really fond of Christmas sweaters. Even if you get a free Colin Firth with them. Especially the creepy ehm… humorous kind. However, I love a bit of Christmas Kitsch.

Novelty brooches, charm bracelets, silly earings and hats or fascinators are all fine with me. Fine enough to share a few of my finds (keep in mind shipping can take longer these days – AND don’t forget you might have to pay customs for some stuff!). So here you’ll find some vintage, some cheap high street stuff and a bit from Etsy – have fun! I am sooooo tempted to get the „Merry Christmas“ necklace. Would be my first one!

Frollein von Sofa makes delightful and fun little hats. So far only admired her work from afar. Guess some point next year that’ll change!

And this here is my personal bling for the season – the little sleigh brooch is vintage (another Ebay find). Got the charm bracelet 10 years ago (time flies!) as well as the earrings – it was from the States, where a nice lady was confused why she got all these orders from abroad, until I told her she made it into a German fashion magazine…

As you can see, this pic was taken a few weeks ago – I didn’t grow back my hair overnight. I like the combination of business formal and utterly female accessories.Perfect when you don’t have any appointments with clients and have a lunch date with your bestie. A glass of red would just round off the outfit.

I use a lot of look-a-likes in Polyvore – my black velvet platform sandals are not from Gucci. I got them in a small local shop. They were 3-4 times reduced since most ladies don’t get black velvet sandals for summer. However they have a great vintage vibe and are a steal for 15 EUR.

Klar zu erkennen, da ich mir meine Haare nicht über Nacht zurückgewachsen sind – das Bild ist 2-3 Wochen als. Ich mag die Kombi aus formalem Business-Look und super weiblichen Assessoires, wie den Netzstrümpfen. Für mich perfekt wenn ich keinen Kunden-/Bauherrenkontakt habe. Dafür aber eine gute Freundin zum Lunch treffe.  Dieser Post zeigt, wie oft ich Polyvore nutze um einen Look zu entwerfen – passiert öfters durchs Online-Bestellen. Bei Polyvore benutze ich viele Dinge, die meinen sehr ähnlich sehen. Wie z.B: die Gucci-Pumps. Meine sind aus einem kleinen Schuhladen hier vor Ort. Die waren 3-4 mal reduziert, da viele Frauen im Sommer keine schwarzen Samtsandalen wollen. Trotzdem sehen die sehr vintagemässig aus und waren für 15 EUR ein echtes Schnäppchen!

Geekchic at the Planetarium

Yes, you have seen that dress a few weeks before. But this time with a ‪#‎geekchic‬ approach. The Planetarium Bochum was celebrating its 50th anniversary and I was invited. Since I am a big fan I thought it would be fun to wear something matching the theme – like my nebula bracelet and my galaxy scarf. The scarf just arrived a mere day before the celebration. And both accessories got their fair share of compliments.

I was tempted to get a space dress first – but delivery time was crucial and sometimes customs take a little longer than you care for. And since I have a crush (but no talent) for astronomy I thought it would be a bit over the top too.

It was a nice event, fun anecdotes of the early days were told, the good work they do now, the buffet was excellent, the new show was very enjoyable and will be quite likely a success. A grand day out all in all!

Ja,dieses Kleid gab es vor kurzem schon einmal zu sehen. Diesmal jedoch in einem anderen Look: ‪#‎geekchic‬. Das Planetarium Bochum hat sein 50-jähriges Bestehen gefeiert und ich war eingeladen. Da ich ein grosser Fan unseres Planetariums bin, dachte ich es wäre nur passend etwas passendes zu tragen. Dafür habe ich mir das Sternennebel-Armband und den Galxy-Schal gekauft. Zum Glück kam der Schal dann auch einen Tag vorher an. Beide wurden ausreichend bewundert und gelobt.

Hatte mir zuerst überlegt mir ein thematisch passendes Kleid zu kaufen – den space dress. Aber Versand aus den USA kann langwierig sein und manchmal braucht es mit dem Zoll etwas länger, als es einem lieb ist. Ausserdem finde ich zwar Atronomie toll, habe aber so gar kein Talent dafür. Das wäre dann doch etwas des Guten zuviel gewesen.

Es war eine schöne Veranstaltung mit lustigen Geschichten aus den Anfangstagen, die neue Show war gut und wird hoffentlich ein Erfolg. Kurzum ein toller Tag!

Some time ago, I think that was in May or early June I came across T.U.K.’s Foxy Heels in green velvet and fell in love – or lust. One of the things I quite frequently do before I get new things is I patch a possible outfit together in Polyvore. Either with things I own or are very similar to my things. On their first day out the Fox heels received quite a lot of attention and praise. They are super cute! Hope you approve the transition from look board to street style.

Irgendwann im May oder Anfang Juni habe ich diese Schuhe gesehen. Und mich verliebt. Regelmässig bevor ich mir etwas kaufe, erstelle ich eine Kollage auf Polyvore. Entweder mit meinen Dingen oder mit Sachen, die so ähnlich aussehen. Bei ihrem ersten Ausflug haben die Fuchs-Schuhe einiges an Aufmerksamkeit erregt. Sie sind supersüss. Ich hoffe Euch gefällt die Umsetzung von Lookboard in Street-Style.

Noch einmal Sommer – Last Day of Summer

Probably the last day of summer for this year and I decided to wear one of my favourite (summer) dresses from the Inspire range from New Look with a stripy shirt from Marks and Spencer. I really love the swallow pattern. Makes me feel like I am on holidays.

French satin ballerina flats in satin I bought a long time ago in Paris, white sunnies, a powder blue H + M bag and this years birthday treat a matching powder blue mini beret round off the outfit. Which was made by Polish hat maker Kasia Girtler.

Probably not the best outfit to haggle for prices for vintage stuff on my local flea market. But a nice one to go shopping (pink loafers) and have a glass of red wine enjoying this day that feels so much more like summer than autumn.

Heute ist wahrscheinlich der letzte Sommertag dieses Jahr, deswegen habe ich mich dafür entschieden eines meiner liebsten Kleider aus der Inspire Kollektion von New Look mit einem Streifenhemd von Marks and Spencer anzuziehen. Das Schwalbenmuster finde ich einfach toll. Damit fühle ich mich immer wie im Urlaub.

Das Outfit runden Satinballerinas, die ich mir vor Jahren in Paris gekauft habe, eine einfache weisse Sonnenbrille, eine hellblaue H+M Tasche und eine passende Mini-Baskenmütze ab. Das Hütchen habe ich mir selber zum Geburtstag geschenkt. Gemacht hat es Kasia Girtler, eine polnische Hutmacherin.

Wahrscheinlich nicht das beste Outfit um auf meinem Lieblingsflohmarkt am Rathaus zu feilschen, aber genau richtige um danach noch etwas in der Stadt einkaufen zu gehen (die rosa Loafer) und ein Glas Rotwein in der Sonne zu trinken.
