FrenchCurves: Cosy Winter Cats

January is for me the most dreary month of the year. The christmas lights and decorations have returned to the basement. It is cold and it is still too dark for my taste.
That is why it is even more important for me in January to dress not only warm but chic and cheerful. The cat skirt is definitely playful. Perfect for a sunday. Especially when going out for sushi with friends. (Hey, there are even fishies on the print). The colours are great for winter (and good for summer, too).

The plaid is seriously soft and warm and it goes with so many colours.

Halloween Hell-O-Kitty Cat (and FrenchMaid)

In Germany Halloween is more and more becoming a thing. Though over here our costumes tend to be on the spooky side. If you want to be red riding hood your are the zombie one. For non spooky costumes many areas have carnival earlier in the year.

This is one of three looks for carnival this year. The other one was the French Maid. Which is basically just a variaton. The feather duster is homemade. Also easily transformed into something darker. And I also went for one night as a „geisha“.

Back to Halloween: the cat is an easy look – I am not a big fan of big make-up. Halloween or carnival. If you go to a big party it’ll be warm. Really warm. Quite often humind too. I turn easily especially when dancing is involved into a sweaty mess. The whiskers and the nose are made with waterproof eyeliner.

Back again in Pink Polka-Dots

Miss Kittenheel is back online! A few mishaps and then my blog was gone for a week. But there was also an opportunity in that involuntary break. I had a good thought to remind myself why I do this and what I want.

That looks a bit different to when I first started. Back when I started my blog I had exalted ideas. Of many cooperations. Glittering events. Life like so often turned out differently. I pouted a bit for a while. But not anymore. I made a few cooperations. Some were great fun. A few not so much. However all were educational.
Schillernden Veranstaltungen. Aber das Leben ist oft anders. Ich habe ein wenig geschmollt. Nicht mehr. Ich habe ein paar Kooperationen gemacht. Einige waren toll. Andere nicht so sehr. Gelernt habe ich immer was.

And yes, I have been to some really cool events and places too, because of my blog. I met quite a few fascinating people through blogging and some where I was baffled why they were successful. Don’t give me that diligence crap. with some I struggled  to tell them apart. That is also due to me being a bit of an analphabet when it comes to facial recognition.

But basically that is not what keeps my blog going. It is the fun, the indulgence and also the responses I get. Sure there are not a lot of comments as they were „before“ on most blogs. But it is the personal feedback that motivates me way more that the fullest goodie bag. It feels ace when you know you are responsible that someone bought and wore her first dress in twenty years.

I love it to have a save place where I make all the decisions. Be that styling or design issues, time management, cooperations either with firms or fellow bloggers.  I neither have that freedom in my job as a landscape architect nor in politics.

So the fun will continue!
Der Spass geht also weiter!

This outfit sums me up pretty well. It is quite typical. We got a dress, some basics and some fun things. The basics are the sturdy brogues, the tights, the cropped denim jacket, the black chiffon pussy bow blouse, the beret and the mini messenger bag. The dress is a part of the fun things together with the cat umbrella.

On the Go: Cat Dress No.3 – Cat’s News

Ok, I admit it – I had this for a while and as the leaves are turning (and falling) and the ones in the background are squeaky green, these pics were not taken recently. But sometimes life happens and it would have been very bad timing to post them when they were shot. Anyway – I have shown the pink swing kitty dress from Voodoo Vixen, aka cat dress No.1 here and the Mews-eum Collector cat dress by Modcloth a bit later (which is back in stock!). This showstopper will probably my last cat dress for a while. Still, I love them all. The scoop neck isn’t really my favourite and the dress is quite expensive when you look at the tailoring. But it washes well, the pockets are a plus, too. And I frequently wear all my cat dresses, too. Even in the office. Yep!

Tuesday = Shoesday: Hello Kittens!

Recently came across a concept I really liked – tuesdays are shoes days!  So here we go – so many shoes, so little time – meet my kittten flats. You might know their swisher sisters: my foxy heels. The flat ones are really comfy. Think padded soles. And they are dead cute. Like so many T.U.K. Shoes. I think they try to look a little bit too innocent or inconspicuous. I found mine on Amazon. You might want to check these.

Miss Kitty-Cat

Guess I am a crazy cat lady in the making. Though currently I don’t quite see a feine sharing lodgings with me. Sure there are cats that don’t need constant human entertainment. But even the more individual ones prefer their human to be more often at home than just a mere four hours a day, at least awake. But it would be so nice to come home to a purring house (or rather flat) mate.

So for now I’ll just do the dresses and other cat accessories. This is cat dress number one. It is pink and has a quirky 1950s atomic pattern. A black kitten on a pink base. Slightly satinated cotton and a lovely circle skirt.

I saw it first on Becky’s Facebook page from  Does My Blog make me look fat? and thought – „wow, this is fab!“. Hesitated a bit and then my size was sold out. Bugger. But there is always ebay. And I got it from an American seller. Four weeks and a trip to my local customs office later, it was there. I like it quite a bit.

Most days I even wear it with my pale blue petticoat. To be fair, petticoats are overrated on hot summer days. But in winter the extra tulle layers add not just sone ooomph to the skirt but also extra warmth to the legs.It is a dress that works lovely in all seasons. And something I love about the place I work now, have even worn it to the office!
