Pink Hair meets Tapestry

Ooops, I did it again. Last time with pink hair was two years ago. I thought I was through with it. But somehow I don’t like to be told how to live my life. You have seen this tapestry dress on this blog – in my first year. In the meantime my tailor turned it into a wiggle dress.

Alle Jahre wieder – ok, diesmal ist es zwei Jahre her das ich mir das letzte Mal die Haare Pink gefärbt habe und ich dachte ich wäre damit durch. Aber ich reagiere schlecht darauf wenn man mir sagt wie ich zu leben habe. Das Gobelin-Kleid gab es schon mal auf meinem Blog zu sehen – im ersten Jahr. Dann aber noch mit ausgestelltem Rock – das hat mein Schneider vor einiger Zeit korrigiert.

Oktoberfest Craze: Dirndl-Time

It is late October and the Munich Oktoberfest is over. Lots of local ones are still on. this year there is no Octoberfest for me. But there is always next year. Still I got a Dirndl-Look for you and so have some of my readers.
Es ist spät im Oktober und das Münchener Oktoberfest lange vorbei. Viele kleinere finden noch an allerlei Orten statt. Dieses Jahr gibt es für mich kein Oktoberfest. trotzdem habe ich noch einen Dirndl-Look für euch. Nicht nur ich, sondern auch einige meiner Leserinnen.

Last one in the row and to round off the selection is Sar HA. Hers is a sweet and very down to earth dirndl. A real country dress, that wouldn’t look out of place on a meadow. Note to self – get one of those eventually, too.
Zum Schluss und um die Auswahl abzurunden kommt Sar HA. Ihres ist ein süsses und bodenständiges Dirndl. Ein echtes Landkleid, dass auch auf eine Wiese passt. Notiz an mich selber – ich will auch so eines.

Back to me and my mix and match Dirndl. I don’t like the typical dirndl blouses and I don’t do aprons.
Zurück zu mir mit meinem Trachten-Outfit.Ich mag die klassischen Dindlblusen nicht sehr und ich trage keine Schürzen. Punkt.

Oktoberfest Craze: Feiern ohne Dirndl

Ein gutes Dirndl ist selbst gebraucht nicht (mehr) ganz preiswert. Schön finde ich die Billigdirndl von KIK und Co nicht. Auch zu Karneval nicht. Was aber tun? Letztes Jahr habe ich „es muss nicht immer Dirndl sein“ gepostet.
A good Dirndl doesn’t come cheap (anymore).Not even a used one. I don’t like the cheap ones you get on eBay and other places. Not even for carnival. So what’s a girl to do? I posted last year some suggestions in German.


Der heutige Look geht auch in die Richtung. Feiern ohne Dirndl geht. Egal ob Oktoberfest oder zum Volksfest. Das Kleid ist wie ein Großteil meiner Sachen von LindyBop. Karos sind etwas rustikal und gehen eigentlich immer.
Today’s look is another take on that. Party without a dirndl at Oktoberfest or similar festivities. The dress is like a majority of my dresses from LindyBop. Checks are always a good idea and very versatile. A bit rustic.


Kombiniert mit einem preiswerten Blumenkranz von Claire’s, einer kurzen Strickjacke, meiner Alpen Swatch und einer Gobelin-Tasche aus den 1960gern. Kirmes ist drin – solange es nicht auf die Geräte mit Überschlag und andere Kotzmühlchen geht. Zumindest dort wo zwischen den Beinen nicht gesichert werden muss.
Combined with a flower headband by Claire’s, a short cardi, my alpine Swatch and a 60s tapestry bag. Fun at the fair guaranteed – as long as you stay clear of the newer kind of vomit comets that need to be secured between the legs.

Adventskalender: OOTD Tapestry Love

The last couple of days were a bit busy and I wasn’t happy with the pics I still had. But here is another outfit post. The dress arrived a couple of weeks ago (and it was back then on sale). I have a mega crush on more or less all things tapestry. Bought my first tapestry bag in 2010, but even before that I pined for one for years.

Earlier this year I bought two tapestry brooches. A tiny perfume bottle and a dinky umbrella with a matching handbag.

Vintage Tapestry Brooches

Sometime ago I came across Simply Be’s Tapestry Dress. When I ordered it I knew it would be on the short side – with a legth of 91cm. Too short for my taste. But I had an idea, how that could be helped. With the help of a capable seamstress. On the left is the dress when it arrived, on the right the photoshopped version how I thought it might look with the tweed insert to elongate the dress. Standing in front of the mirror it looks kind of ok, sitting down however wasn’t.

I was pretty pleased with the result and I really, really like to wear that dress. And have worn it so far at least once a week.

Die letzten Tage waren leider recht vollgepackt und ich war auch nicht glücklich mit den Bildern, die ich noch hatte. Aber hier ist endlich wieder ein Outfit. Das Gobelinkleid ist vor ein paar Wochen angekommen – und da warr es ordentlich reduziert! Ich finde Gobelin“sachen“ toll. Meine erste Gobelinhandtasche habe ich vor ca. vier Jahren gekauft und davor wollte ich schon ewige Zeiten eine haben. Früher im Jahr habe ich die zwei Gobelinbroschen auf Ebay gefunden: einen kleinen Parfümflacon und ein niedlicher Schirm mit passender Handtasche.
Vor relativ kurzer Zeit habe ich dann das Kleid bei SImply Be entdeckt, siehe Simply Be’s Tapestry Dress. Als ich das Kleid bestellt hatte, wusste ich, dass es etwas zur kurz war – mit einer Länge (oder Kürze?) von 91cm. Aber ich hatte eine Idee und mit Hilfe einer findigen Schneiderin und einem Vintage-Tweed-Stoff konnte das Kleid verlängert werden. Als ich vorm Spiegel stand, fand ich das Kleid eigentlich ok, sitzend ging es aber gar nicht. Links also die Originallänge und rechts im Bild die Photoshopversion wie ich mir das Ergebnis vorgestellt hatte.
Über das Ergebnis war ich hocherfreut und ich ziehe das Kleid sehr, sehr gerne an. Bis jetzt ziehe ich das Kleid mindestens einmal die Woche an.
