For me the Oktoberfest marks the beginning of Autumn and the autumnal fairs. Still pretty big events in most places I know. I work in Krefeld where they have the Sprödentalkirmes. As fairs go it is nice and family oriented. You get the lotteries, duck fishing, plenty of rides for all ages and adrenalin levels, cotton candy and toffee apples. Being afraid of heights Miss Kittenheel gets more value for money on the wheel. By the end of the evening I was (as should be) dizzy from the rides and almost sick from the fish (with a bread roll, not with chips and tartar sauce), the ananas in white chocolate and my fair share of toasted almonds. A fun evening with the other godchildren.
The outfit is a bit country or updated Trachten. I wore this dress in Berlin, at the Curvy and have worn it with different accessories to meetings on hot summer days. The red and white dogtooth is quite versatile. The cardi is from Modcloth and you might have seen it in a Christmas context here. The shoes are still quite new and been featured here for the ‚Oktoberfest Craze‘. The brooch was a presie from my best friend’s husband who got one like these for all the ladies of our group at last years Oktoberfest in Xanten. The scarf has a pretty print with old fashioned cabbage roses. And a beret keeps your head warm. Got them in quite a few colours. More important than a stylish bag is having your hands free at the fair and the new cowhide clutch was a bit too small to fit the brolley in.

Für mich ist das Oktoberfest immer der eigentliche Herbstanfang und dami der Beginn der vielen Herbstkirmesse. Immer noch echt große Veranstaltungen an den meisten Orten, die ich kenne. In Krefeld, wo ich arbeite, ist das die Sprödentalkirmes. Keine riesige Kirmes, aber groß genug und familiär. Es gibt die üblichen Verdächtigen: die Losbuden, Entenangeln, Fahrgeschäfte für alle Altersgruppen und Adrenalinbedarf, Zuckerwatte und Paradiesäpfel. Da Miss Kittenheel Höhenangst hat, bekam sie mehr fürs Geld auf dem Riesenrad. Am Ende des Abends war mir, so wie es sein soll, etwas schwindelig von den Kotzmühlchen und latent schlecht von dem Mix aus Backfisch, weißer Schoko-Ananas und gebrannten Mandeln. Es war ein gelungener Abend mit den (anderen) Patenkindern.
Dieses Outfit ist etwas ländlich angehaucht, mein Ansatz Tracht zu entstauben. Das Kleid hatte ich schon in Berlin zur Curvy an und zu einigen Besprechungen im Hochsommer. Der rot-weiße Hahnentritt ist vielseitig kombinierbar. Die kurze Strickjacke von ModCloth gab es letztes Jahr schon vor Weihnachten zu bewundern. Die Schuhe sind neu, wurden aber auch schon im Rahmen von „Oktoberfest Craze“ gezeigt. Die Brosche ist ein Geschenk. Der Mann meiner besten Freundin hatte die für uns Damen beim letzten Oktoberfest in Xanten gekauft. Der Schal hat ein schönes Muster mit alten Cottage-, bzw. Kohlrosen. Naja, und das Barett hält den Kopf warm. Wichtiger als eine stylische Handtasche ist es mir auf der Kirmes die Hände freizuhalten. Die neue Kuhfellclutch war etwas zu klein für den Knirps und musste zuhause bleiben.
