These boots are not just for walking. They look like proper adventurer boots. They make me think of Amalia Earhart (at least from the Night at the Museum 2 movie), Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games and what I’d wear in company of Indiana Jones.
Diese Stiefel sind nicht einfach nur zum Gehen gemacht (wie in dem Song von Nancy Sinatra). Die sehen nach Abenteuern aus. Nach Amalia Earhart (zumindest in der Filmversion aus Nacht im Museum 2), Katniss Everdeen aus den Tributen von Panem und was ich anziehen würde wenn ich mit Indiana Jones unterwegs wäre. 

Took me a long time to find them. And at first their price came as a shock. 350 EUR. Ouch. But then the price got dropped to 280 EUR. Plus 15% signing up for the newsletter. Still expensive. But within my reach. So I bought them in summer. Took a while to cool down. They were perfect on the beach with tartan with a dress. And they are perfect in the dunes (and on the beach as well).
Es hat ewig gedauert solche Stiefel zu finden. Und zuerst war ihr Preis eine unangenehme Überraschung. 350 EUR. Aua! Dann wurden sie auf 280 EUR gesenkt. Plus 15% weil ich mich für den Newsletter angemeldet habe. Immer noch verdammt teuer. Aber in Reichweite. Also habe ich sie im August gekauft. Hat etwas gedauert bis das Wetter auf Stiefeltemperaturen runterging. Sie passen auch super zum Kleid, wie am Strand in einem herbstlichen Maritimenlook. Und sie sind auch perfekt in den Dünen.

The wax coat is a few years old. The paisley scarf is vintage. The bag is another proof of my love for tweed and tartans. I look like I am ready to shoot grouse in Scotland. Or about to embark on an adventure. Rather than go for cake. Wich I was. With the parents.
Die Wachsjacke habe ich schon seit einigen Jahren. Das Paisleytuch ist Vintage. Die Umhängetasche zeigt mal wieder wie sehr ich Schottenkaros und Tweed mag. So könnte ich auch in Schottland Moorhühner jagen. Oder zu einem Abenteuer aufbrechen. Nicht nur mit den Eltern zum Kuchenessen.

Wish I was there!

Fitting for the end of summer is this cheerful pattern with ripe summer fruit and pretty flowers. More green than I thought. Voodoo Vixen seems to produce for the Snow White or darker type. I feel easily washed out in their frocks. The green shrug might be an excellent colour match but I prefer the dress with the black cardi.

Ich liebe den Mai – da habe ich Geburtstag (zugegeben das wird mit jedem Jahr immer etwas weniger aufregend), es ist Spargelzeit und es gibt Erdbeeren. Ab und an fühlt es sich auch schon nach Sommer an. Hach, Akeleien und Pfingstrosen (siehe Bild) blühen auch. Anfang April habe ich diese Aktion #ErdbeereMalAnders von #soehnleinbrillant bei der lieben Katha von Kathasprophal sehr bewundert und vorgemerkt.
I love May – not only because it is my birthday month (though that gets each year less exciting) but it’s also the season for white asparagus and strawberries. It even feels like summer on a good day. Paeonies (pictured) and colombines flower in the garden. At the beginning of April lovely Katha from Kathasptrophal made a contribution for this competition „Strawberry Wth A Twist“ from Söhnlein Brillant and I made a mental note after some cooing.

Ich mag es süss, aber auch herzhaft – deswegen ist mein Beitrag für  #ErdbeereMalAnders ein klassischer Caprese-Salat in der Variante mit Erdbeeren und Balsamico. Ich liebe es wenn da gaaaaaaanz viel Basilikum drauf ist, das ist aber suboptimal fürs Foto. Lasst Euch gesagt sein, gegessen wurde der mit doppelt soviel „Grün“.
I like it sweet and savoury – that is why my entry for „Strawberry Wth A Twist“ is a classic caprese salad with strawberries and balsamic vinegar. I love it with tons of basil but that isn’t that great for the pics. When I ate it it had twice the aound of green on it.

Klassisch und in der Tradition die ich aus deutschen und englischen Büros kenne, einen Geburtstagskuchen mitbringen zu müssen, gab es einen Erdbeer-Cheesecake – ohne Backen. Aus der Tupperbox. War leider sehr anhänglich und so sah das ganze dann sehr, sehr selbstgemacht aus. Rustikal trifft es da schon nicht mehr. Die Erdbeeren kaschieren das etwas. Schmeckte aber gut. Ich habe griechischen anstelle von normalem Joghurt genommen, ca. 50g Mandeln und zwei Prisen Salz der Butterkeksmasse hinzugefügt – und etwas pink.
Another classic and in the tradition I know from German and English offices alike to bring a brithday cake, I made a strawberry cheesecake when it was my turn. Out of a tupperbox. To which it got very attached. The result was very, very homemade looking slices. The strawberries gloss over that a bit. Tasted fine though. I took greek yogurt instead of regular one and added 50g ground almonds and two pinches of salt to the base.

Der Geburtstagstisch war auch toll – da gab es Erdbeeren ohne jeden Zipp und Zapp. Von meinem Lieblingserdbeerstand. Der ist leider zu weit weg. Outfitbilder vom Tag selber gibt es nicht. Das hole ich die Tage mal nach. Aber erst war zuviel zu tun und dann war der Besuch da – ihr kennt das wahrscheinlich auch.
My birthday table  was great – there were strawberries without any fuzz. From my favourite stall. Unfortunately too far away. There are no outfit pics from the day itself. I’ll try to make some soon. But first there was too much to do and then the guests were there. You probably know how that is.

Just a quick one – before I must dash off to take my train – recently I bought this lovely Kiyonna dress from Birgit from Charming Curves. You might have seen it on Katha from Kathasptrophal here. What I love about it is a perfect travel dress. Roll it into a ball, shake it out and you are ready for anything from a noce dinner to a formal occasion. As a seasoned traveller that is always a plus. Great colour, too. Here combined with a pink scarf I was allowed to chose from Navabi and pink heels with cute shoe clips from Alternate Normailty The headband (not really a fascinator) is vintage from the 1950s.

So, bevor ich gleich zu meinem Zug muss noch ein weiteres Silvester Outfit. Dieses Kiyonna-Kleid habe ich von Birgit von Charming Curves. Ihr hab es vielleicht auch schon  hier an Katha von Kathastrophal gesehen. Es ist ein perfektes Reisekleid, knüddeln, ausschütteln und Cinderella ist fertig für den Ball – oder besser für alles vom Dinner bis zum formalem Empfang. Tolle Farbe. Hier kombiniert mit einer pinken Stola, die ich mir bei Navabi aussuchen durfte und pinken Schuhen, die ich mit einem Schuhclip von Alternate Normality verziert habe.

French Curves Challenge: suède, suédine.
Pour moi c’est amusant de combiner deux challenges dans une contribution. Une contribution pour laquelle je ne suis pas bien équipée. J’ai ni des vêtements desuède ou suédine et je ne suis pas la souris grise (même si cette couleur est bien représentée dans ma garde-robe). J’ai des bottes de suède et autres chaussures, des gants (en vert forestier), mais ni chapeau ou sac à main. Les bottes sont ravissantes, très élégante, un peu haute pour mon goût ce jour. J’ai acheté les talons desuède avec les pompoms quelques années avant à Ebay, peut-être 2009 ou 2010. J’aime bien les chapeaux vintages, spécialement les chapeaux cocktail et les fascinateurs. Celui-ci est fabriqué par moi, les plumes sont vieilles et j’ai les trouvé sur le marché aux puces avec celui-là. Un peu chasseur, un peu grande dame. Le vent n’était pas coopératif, les plumes sont un peu ébouriffées.

It is quite amusing for me to combine two challenges into one contribution. A contribution for which I am not well equipped. I neither have suede (or suede-like) clothing and I am not really a grey mouse (despite having quite a few grey clothes). I have suede boots and other shoes, a pair of (forest green) gloves but neither handbag nor hat. The boots are strikingly elegant, a bit high for my taste these days and from Duo Boots. The pom pom heels were an eBay find a few years back, in 2009/2010. I love my hats, especially vintage cocktail hats or fascinators. This one is made by me, the feathers are vintage, too and bought together with these ones on my favourite flea market. A bit huntress, quite ladylike. The wind wasn’t helpful and tousled the feathers a bit.
