ü30Blogger & Friends: Poetisch Verträumte Looks – Pretty as a Picture + Giveaway

Time to join the ladies from the ü30 blogger network for this month’s theme Pretty as a Picture (Whimsical Looks) – the other ladies told me piece of cake for you – but I wasn’t sure. But since I got myself a new hat for my birthday from Mein wunderbarer Hutsalon I thought I’d show that. And so that it isn’t just a treat for me the lovely Ricarda who created it decided to give a little back to you!

And here it is – my birthday hat.
Und hier ist er – mein Geburtstags-Hut.

A half or cocktail hat made of straw and linnen (and some clever underwiring).

True vintage – a late 1950s orignal raffia bag.

Such a pretty chinoiserie pattern and the batik fill gives additional depth. That pattern definitely fits the bill of poetic, dreamy or whimsical.

Giveaway! Open worldwide (though chep and cheerful), very oldschool drawing system – I’ll write your names on a slip of paper and let my mum draw. Please leave a „Mad as a Hatter“ in the comments until Saturday, June 5th 2021, MET 2300h.

Giveaway!

Whimsical – my Dutch bike (without gears) is quite romantical at least for a bike – I got it to take part in Tweed Rides but since I am a bit fitter I enjoy more and more riding it for fun and because I can.

At the end of this post is a Link-Up – I am already curious what the others will post to Pretty as a Picture – they are in German though.

Winter Colours | Winterfarben – ü30Blogger & Friends

One of the surprises about winter colours for many is that cherry red is one of them. I love red. Or rather many shades of red. Black is an obvious winter colour and so is grey. Also the colour scheme of my last post with the swan dress.

Fur is also a winter classic and so is the fleece of the bag. The plaid screams wood cutter – and that makes me instantly think of a cosy fire(place).

All fur shown here is reclaimed vintage. The collar is from the 50s or 60s. The brooch is vintage from the same era. I made the fascinator from a dowdy old fur hat, probably from the 1960s.
