Christmas Sweater Girl – mein Weihnachtspullover

A classic in the Anglo-American wardrobe it into my closet – my very own Christmas Sweater from Collectif Clothing (also available in Brown). Topvintage also has these, but like with quite a few of their items not up to my size – which is a whopping 4XL.

Ok, this isn’t the twelve days of Christmas – check out Retrochick’s blog – her very own challenge with Christmasssy outfits are my daily joy. I have a few festive outfits of my own (like this Bernie Dexter Winterwonderland dress and it’s variation). This is look number four – the snow queen. Still on sick leave I put on some lippy and dragged my sorry self, MontyDerMops and my bestie to the postboxes around the corner to make a few shots to take part in the LindyBop Christmas competition with pose No. 3 – #LindyMail. I thought my best chances were with this entry but I won the #LindyBauble challenge with a red and white outfit in a completely natural Pin-Up Pose.

People were staring somewhat befuddled – somehow they wondered about this strange lady (me) posing next to the postboxes. Don’t think they realised my bestie made pics with my iPad. Ach, whatever. I didn’t win the #LindyMail competition – but check out the other entries – especially that cat is soooo funny!

So here is the pose and the winner – Angie from @queen_ange_face!

And this is also my contribution for this month’s challenge of Plus40Fabulous – a lovely group created by Leah from Just Me, Leah and Mookie from Mookie’s Life. You can find them (or rather us) on Facebook and Instagram.

This look isn’t just festive but it also works nicely in January or February (though without the lantern brooch). I got that 1950s vintage brooch from Wunder-Same – she has lovely stuff in her shop!

This is MontyDerMops – Monty, the pug. Contrary to other people my pet isn’t a handbag sized dog but a dogshaped handbag. This FuzzyNation animal (sorry, they closed their shop – but check them out on Amazon or eBay) isn’t very roomy but has been a trusty companion since 2009. I fell in love with him two years before on a flight out to Paris in Manchester Airport.

I was gutted when I found these shoes a few days later. Sigh – they would have been perfect. The grey tweed fascinator is the one and only hand made Christmas presie for the friend who takes a lot of my pictures (the position of the Instagram husband is still open ^^). And the tartan one is a surprise but not a Christmas present 😉

dress: Audrey Mini-Gingham in black and white, LindyBop – also on Sale (without pockets) and a darling one for kids
cardigan: Zizzifashion, Winter 2014/2015, sold out (I removed the decorative sequin strips)
fascinator: made by moi from reclaimed fur (from a set with the scarf)
lantern brooch, kid gloves, fur stole and muff: vintage
thermal tights: C&A
heels: black glitter platforms by Deichmann – but these or these from Tamaris are better for the look!

Just in case you wonder what I picked (first price for #LindyBauble were a skirt, petticoat and top).

Sorry – no German version today 🙁

On the Go – From Holland with Love

Ok, not quite Holland. But not far from the Dutch border. And with a vintage scarf with a Dutch/ Delft tile print and a vintage procellain brooch. Awwww. By the way – the dress is currently on sale at LindyBop!

dress: Colette, LindyBopcardi: zizzi, Winter 2014/ 2015 (I removed sequin straps at the fake pockets)
sneakers (yep!): Deichmann

Oktoberfest Craze: Dirndl Love with LindyBop

This is something for Dirndl Love – Ophelia by LindyBop has the perks of a Dirndl but doesn’t feel as much fancy dress when you are not from Bavaria. Apart from that it is an ace vintage look. Super femine. Awesome price compared to a Dirndl, too. I love the pattern, I love the shape – but it is not me. I tried and tried again. There is more on the original website – more patterns, colours, etc. Anyway – am reluctandly letting this one go. My loss is your gain and since there are a few marks from a concealing safety pin this dress is down to 19EUR including shipping within Germany!

Oktoberfest und seine Nachwehen oder englischer Vintage-Look? Dieses Kleid kann beides.Eine kostengünstige Alternative zum Dirndl. Egal ob Bierzelt oder Tanztee. Super weiblich, keine „Verkleidung“.
