Tropical Delight: Happy Parrots

Welcome in June. This month in early summer is dedicated to a classic: tropical prints. With a bit of Tiki (south pacific inspired kitsch) here and there. Palm prints, parrots, fruity accessories. Watch this space!

Though I don’t really like the heat and my body isn’t made for it, I seriously enjoy exotic prints. I love the colours on of the dress: turquise background with dark and sage green foliage and the parrots (macaws) and flowers in a strong yellow and orange.

The cardi is an old familiar on this blog and teams well with my cacadoo dress from PinUp Couture. The brutalist abalone/ paua brooch is a real vintage piece from the 1960s. Both the fascinator and the suede heels are from 2013 and for the first time featured on my blog.

You will see quite a bit of these bracelets this month – trust me I wear them even more often! They are by French Curves founder Gaëlle Prudenico’s wonderful (wax) Ibiloba line and come in 2 widths – I am wearing the narrower one. Made in Dakar, Sénégal from with traditional (wax cotton) patterns. I love the mix and can’t wait to get my first skirt.
