Last year I went to Brittany but I didn’t get those shirts there. It is tricky to get larger plus sizes in France. So I imported the blue one. I really wanted something like the red shirt you see a few pics down – but non luck at my end. The crab skirt was on this blog before and is a must have to take along to the sea side.
Letzes Jahr ging es in die Bretagne – aber mein Shirts kommen leider nicht daher. Plussize ist immer noch ein schwieriges Kapitel in Frankreich – vor allem jenseits einer Grösse 48. Also habe ich mir mein blaues Shirt selber mitgebracht. Etwas weiter unten gibt es ein bretonisches Shirt in Rot. Auch das ist nicht aus der Bretagne, sondern das habe ich in Bochum gekauft. Der Krebs-Rock war auch schon mal auf dem Blog – und will einfach mit wenn es an die See geht.
Super sunny day in the Finistère – at the end of the (French) world. In the back is the l’Île Vierge. Where you get two lighthouses for the price of one. According to wikipedia it is the location of the tallest stone lighthouse in Europe,and the tallest „traditional lighthouse“ in the world.
Es war ein super sonniger Tag im Finistère – dem Ende der (französichen) Welt. Im Hintergrund ist die Île Vierge. Mit zwei Leuchtürmen auf einer kleinen Insel. Der kleine Weisse ist recht schwer zu erkennen. Der Grosse ist der höchste Stein-Leuchtturm Europas.
A seriously beautiful beach – I swam with my swim ray over to the little island on the left. The flood came in and getting there was actually quite an effort. When I crossed there was already much more water in between.
Ein wunderschöner Strand – ich bin mit meinem Schwimmrochen zu der kleinen Insel rübergeschwommen. Die Flut kam rein – was das ganze auf dem Hinweg recht anstrengend machte. Als ich badefertig war, war schon mehr Wasser in der Bucht.
Lace is quite traditional for areas in northern France – though this lace is from Plauen in Germany. I bought the fake coral and pearl brooch on Borkum.
Spitze ist klassisch für den französischen Norden – diese Spitze ist allerdings aus Plauen. Die falsche Korallenbrosche habe ich mir auf Borkum gekauft.
What my parents loved about the beach was the shop and garden lounge with a view to the lighthouses and the atlantic. While I was in the (cold) water and my best friend watched her toddler play in the sand, they found a comfy bench, coffee and drinks. A really chilled and inspiring place.
Meine Eltern fanden den Strand toll, denn da gab es einen wunderschönen Shop mit einer Gartenlounge mit Blick auf den Atlantik und die Leuchttürme. Während ich im kalten Wasser war und meine beste Freundin ihr Kleinkind beim Spielen im Sand beaufsichtigte, haben es sich meine Eltern mit Kaffee und kühlen Getränken auf einer der Bänke bequem gemacht. Ein sehr chilliger und inspirierender Ort.
This year I finally found poper breton shirts in my size – in Bochum – so I bought three: red, light blue and a white one with pink stripes. You’ll see the last one before the end of the month, promise.

Sometimes Miss Kittenheel goes flat. Although with the (then) achy toe the red pumps are just for show.
Manchmal ist Miss Kittenheel auch auf flachen Schuhen unterwegs. Auch wenn (dann) wegen des lädierten Zehs die Pumps nur zur Show waren.
A 1950s souvenir brooch. From southern Germany (Chiemsee) – where seagulls are not really typical. But the writing is really small. The sea gulls are yery fitting for seaside looks.
Eine 1950ger Andenken-Brosche. Vom Chiemsee – so Möwen recht untypisch sind. Aber die Schrift ist superklein. Die Möwen passen besser zu Outfits für die Küste.

Liebe Alice, ich habe mittlerweile eine spannende Broschnsammlung – ich meine ich habe damit vor ca. 15 Jahren angefangen. Allerdings hat das erst in den letzten 8 Jahren „Fahrt“ aufgenommen. Mein Budget ist dabei recht bescheiden. Aber ich habe Geduld 🙂
