Tartan for Christmas – ein Wintermärchen

Tartans and Christmas go well together and it never gets old. Today’s dress is in collaboration with Peggy Sue Vintage with a red and grey Nicole tartan dress from Unique Vintage.

Schottenkaros und Weihnachten passen einfach gut zusammen. Mein heutiges Kleid ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit Peggy Sue Vintage mit einem Rot und Grau kariertem Nicole-Kleid von Unique Vintage.

What I love about tartans (or plaids), they are not just for Christmas (like my novelty print dresses) but a great wardrobe staple around the year. Even if you don’t ceöebrate Christmas you can easily turn yourself into a winter princess with this one. Also if you don’t want to elf yourself but just spread a little holiday cheer in the office your are safe with this one.

Was ich an Karos liebe, sie sind tolle Klassiker für das ganze Jahr und nicht nur für Weihnachten (wie meine buntgemusterten Kleider). Auch wer nicht Weihnachten feiert, kann sich hiermit spielend leicht in eine Winterprinzessin verwandeln ohne zum Weihnachtsengel oder Wichtel zu werden. Damit könnt ihr sogar arbeiten gehen.

The dress in red and grey is soft and stretchy. The rather muted colours are easy to combine. It isn’t a thick winter dress – but since so many of us live and work in well heated surroundings, that isn’t a problem. Besides you can still put layers over and under it. Like a shirt beneath and / or a cardi on top. The waist is a bit high for my taste but the wench belt compensates that nicely. The fabric of the dress is very forgiving – so you don’t need to worry about the odd christmas treat!

Das Kleid ist mega weich und stretchig. Die gedeckten Farben lassen sich toll kombinieren. Das ist kein dickes Winterkleid – aber das sollte eigentlich kein Problem sein, denn so viele von uns leben und arbeiten in mehr als gut geheitzten Räumen. Und wenn es halt doch zu frisch ist passt da noch gut ein Hemd drunter und / oder eine Strickjacke drüber. Die Taille sitzt etwas hoch, aber der Gürtel gleicht das gut aus. Das Material des Kleids vergibt einiges – also macht euch keine Gedanken über das Weihnachtsessen!

I love to combine tartan with (vintage or fake) fur. This is a 1950s or 60s silver mink scarf. And though it would be a nice look for a family dinner – this look can easily be worn to work too. Unlike two years ago when I tuned my green tartan dress festive.

Ich liebe es Schottenkaros mit (vintage oder falschem) Pelz zu kombinieren. Das ist ein 1950ger oder 60ger Jahre Silber-Nerz-Schal. Ein schönes Outfit für entspannte Feiern mit der Familie, aber auch fürs Büro. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich mein grünes Karo-Kleid festlich „gemacht“.

Peggy Sue Vintage is a small vintage shop in Frankfurt. Opened in 2011 they not only have lovely vintage inspired dresses and matching accessories – they are part of their local community with lovely events outside pandemic times. There is also an online shop. They got a special service – you can also pre-order a dress and try it on in store.

Peggy Sue Vintage ist ein kleiner Vintageladen in Frankfurt Sachenshausen. Seit 2011 haben sie nicht nur traumschöne Kleider und passende Accessoires, sondern sind auch aktiver Teil ihrer Gemeinschaft vor Ort. Mittlerweile gibt es auch einen Online-Shop. Als speziellen Service könne auch Kleider aus dem Online-Shop reserviert werden und dan im Laden anprobiert werden.

These are trying times for many small businesses – especially those that cater for the beautiful and not exactly the necesseties of life. But if we don’t take care those shops might not be there when we leave the pandemic. On the other hand feeling beautiful and special is something that those vintage dresses are best.
Hopefully we’ll soon have better times again – Angi Henn and her team used to offer also a Private Shopping Event. Perfect for birthdays or bachelorette parties Tying on and out things with your besties sounds like so much fun. Up to 8 could visit the shop after hours including drinks. Fingers crossed that we can have duch fun times soon once more!

Momentan sind keine guten Zeiten für kleine, inhabergeführte Geschäfte – besonders nicht für die, die weniger die existentiellen sondern die schönen Dinge des Lebens verkaufen. Aber wir müssen aufpassen das uns die Läden, die wir lieben nicht verloren gehen. Sich schön und besonders zu fühlen ist etwas was diese Vintagekleider richtig gut können und auch das ist wichtig.
Hoffentlich haben wir bald wieder bessere Zeiten vor uns – Angi Henn und ihr Team hatten vor der Pandemie ein Private Shopping im Angebot. Perfekt für Geburtstage oder Jungesellinnenabschiede. Kleider an- und ausprobieren mit den Mädels klingt nach wahnsinnig viel Spass. Bis zu 8 konnten den Laden ausserhalb der Öffnungszeiten besuchen, Getränke gab es auch. Ich hoffe das solche tollen Events bald wieder möglich sind!

Special Tights – Downtown Ladylike

Hello – and byebye from Bochum for a while. I am off to respiratory rehab. I had a nasty virus in April and have been pretty poorly for months. So now I am frollicing around in the lovely Black Forest. You might remember my post from September with the pompom fascinator? Well, now I am on their turf as well as in Black Forest Gateau country. But more of this in one of my next blogposts!

Hallo – und tschüss aus Bochum. Zumindest für einige Zeit. Ich bin wegen meiner Atemwegserkrankung in der Reha. Der fiese Virus und seine Überbleibsel, die mich seit April im Griff haben, hat mir einen Reha (früher Kur) Aufenthalt im Schwarzwald beschert. Genau – in die Heimat der Bollenhüte – der kleine Fascinator vom September ist auch mit dabei. Natürlich muss ich noch rausfinden wer denn hier die „beschte“ Schwarzwälderkirsch-Torte macht. Aber davon demnächst mehr!

So here I am back in Bochum. The place I learned to love and called home for the last 12 years. I am an urbanite. Occasionally I quite like being in the sticks – but not forever. I prefer cities.

Hier noch einmal in Bochum. Klammheimlich habe ich diese Stadt in den letzen 12 Jahren lieben gelernt und ich habe tatsächlich Wurzeln geschlagen. Ausflüge aufs Land finde ich ganz reizvoll – aber ich bin und bleibe eine Großstadtpflanze.

I love patterned tights – last year around Christmas time I discovered the ones from Pamela Mann – like with the Japanese flowers. I like the edge it gives the very Jackie Kennedy suit.

Ich liebe gemusterte Strumpfhosen – letztes Jahr um Weihnachten herum habe ich die von Pamela Mann entdeckt – wie die mit dem japanischen Blumenmuster. Ich mag den Bruch zum klassischen Jackie Kennedy Kostüm.

I actually get a little bit homesick when I see this – though having a saline pool inhouse is a very cool thing. And don’t laugh I went there for a swim at 7am. IN THE MORNING. Even with getting up for it and not seeing it from the other end.

Ich bekomme tatsächlich etwas Heimweh bei dem Anblick – aber so ein Sole-Heilbad im Haus ist eine extrem feine Sache. Und nicht lachen – ich war heute morgen sogar um 7 Uhr schwimmen. MORGENS – mit dafür aufstehen und nicht am Ende einer langen Nacht.

And no more burger-fridays with a friend until mid November. But there are freshly chopped carrot sticks among other things on the breakfast platters. I could get used to that. If someone else does the early morning chopping.

Bis Mitte November geht auch nicht mehr mit einem guten Freund Burger essen. Aber dafür gibt es hier frisch geschnittene Möhrensticks neben anderen Dingen zur Auswahl beim Frühstück. Daran könnte ich mich gewöhnen – zumindest solange jemand anders zu früher Stunde schnippelt.

This is the more casual look. More appropriate for eating out where we do. Still hopelessly overdressed for the pulmonary clinic. But that is why that look stayed home.

Das ist die entspanntere Variante. Passt besser dahin, zumindest wo wir hingehen. Immer noch zu viel für die Lungenklinik. Aber deswegen musste das Outfit auch zuhause bleiben.

Home Stories – Stay in, in Style, Instant Glamour

We got a pandemic out there and one of the ways to save others is to stay in – to #StayHome or #StayTheFuckHome. Though sweatpants are comfy, part of me holds it with the late Karl Lagerfeld:“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”. They are good for sports. But they never make me feel good wearing them.

Da draussen ist eine Pandemie und wir sind in der seltenen Lage uns allen zu helfen in dem wir brav #ZuhauseBleiben. Für die meisten ist das gleichbedeutend mit Jogginghosen. In der Hinsicht halte ich es mit dem verstorbenen Karl Lagerfeld: „Wer eine Jogginghose trägt, hat die Kontrolle über sein Leben verloren.“ Natürlich sind Jogginghosen grossartig zum Sport. Aber zuhause fühle ich mich damit nicht so toll. So gar nicht.

Instant glamour and a quick morale booster is for me putting the red lippy on. Here combined with a fun brooch and a pussy bow blouse.

Instant Glamour und ein ganz einfacher Weg meine Stimmung zu verbessern ist roter Lippenstift. Hier kombiniert mit einer hübschen Brosche und die Schluppenbluse.

I prefer pyjama pants, patterns and a bit of glamour. My contemporary home-style icons are Dita von Teese and the unflappable Mrs. Murphy. Sprucing up isn’t actually much more of an effort than casual dressing. A slouchy fleece jacket isn’t quicker to put on than something more sophisticated like a vintage (inspired) kimono or a robe-like dress. Adding a brooch and a pretty blouse instead of an old t-shirt and I feel smart.

Ich bevorzuge Pyjamahosen, Muster und etwas Glamour. Meine Stilikonen für zuhause sind Dita von Teese und die unerschütterliche Mrs. Murphy. Sich nett anzuziehen ist genauso viel oder wenig Aufwand wie alles andere. Eine sehr geliebte Fleecejacke ist nicht schneller angezogen als ein schöner Kimono oder ein bequemes Wickelkleid. Dazu noch eine Brosche und eine adrette Bluse anstelle eine alten T-Shirts und ich fühle mich direkt viel besser.

This look isn’t necessarily something I wear when I am coughing my lungs out and trust me I have done that, but when I am just spending some downtime at home or am on my way of recovery. Acutually I wear this pretty often.

Dieser Look ist nicht unbedingt etwas das ich trage, wenn ich mir gerade die Lunge aus dem Leib huste und das habe ich leider schon zu oft gemacht. Aber wenn ich einfach nur so zu Hause bin oder es mir wieder besser geht, dann trage das so recht oft.

I love these old Holywood films with glamorous stars with sumpteous boudoirs, a sweeping stair case and that killer home wear. Those robes won’t neither fit in my tiny kitchen or my miniscule bathroom and you can’t put things into the dishwasher with them – but hey, they always had a maid. Unlike me.

Ich liebe die alten Hollywood Filme mit glamourösen Stars, opulenten Boudoirs, einer dramatischen Freitreppe und fantastischen Negligees und Morgenmänteln. Diese Hauskleider passen so gar nicht in meine kleine Küche oder würden mein winziges Badezimmer fast komplett mit Chiffon ausfüllen. Ziemlich aussichtslos damit die Spülmaschine einzuräumen – aber hey – das macht das Personal. Nur leider habe ich keins.

Same for those outrageously fun bunny slippers. I’d be really tempted if they came in kittenheels or a sturdy mid heel. If I sound like a bore my knees don’t appretiate 4 inch heels any longer. Last year in France I bought these cute kitten slippers. Pink but flat. And quite cuddly. Have I lost control about my life? You decide!

Das gleiche gilt für die herrlich verrückten Bunny-Slippers. Da wäre ich mega versucht wenn es die als Kittenheels oder mit Oma-Absatz gäbe. Auch wenn es langweilig klingt – meine Knie lassen sich nicht mehr von 10cm Absätzen überzeugen. Letztes Jahr in der Bretagne habe ich diese süssen Kätzchen-Hausschuhe gekauft. Pink und flach. Und sehr kuschelig. Habe ich damit die Kontrolle über mein Leben verloren? Ihr entscheidet!

The pink heels have been a few times on this blog – last time with my New York skyline dress. I have a small collection of shoe clips. Quite often I use the pompoms with a Christmas theme – like with the red ones or the black ones for a green Valentine.

Die pinken Absatzschuhe waren schon einige Male auf meinem Blog zu sehen – letztes Mal mit dem Kleid mit den New Yorker Wolkenkratzern. Ich habe eine kleine Auswahl an Schuhclips. Ziemlich oft kombiniere ich die Pompons zu Weihnachtssachen – wie die roten oder die gleichen in Schwarz zu einem grünen Valtentinslook.

I think ASOS sold that as a regular dress but the pattern, the material and the thigh high slit says nighty to me.

Das hier hat ASOS als normales Kleid verkauft – aber Muster, Material und der ewig hohe Seitenschlitz sagt zumindest zu mir Nachthemd.

Home Stories – Selfisolation

I prepared a whole fun month for you for April featunring my favourite hats and looks from Frollein von Sofa  to ditch the concept for now. Same for the geek chic looks for March – they seemed a bit off right now and I got sick.

Ich hatte liebevoll einen Monat voller Outfits mit meinen Hütchen und den passenden Looks von Frollein von Sofa  für den April geplant nur um das vorerst auf Eis zu legen. Ebenso im März für einige Geek Chic Outfits – das passte so gar nicht und ich wurde krank.

So many of us are in lockdown, some in official Corona-quarantine or in selfisolation. Like I was for the last two weeks. And though escapism is one thing but posting like we don’t have a pandemic out there is ignnoring reality.

So viele von uns bleiben zuhause wegen Ausgangs- oder Kontaktsperren, in offizieller Corona-Quarantäne oder Selbstisoloation. So wie ich für die letzten zwei Wochen. Auch wenn Eskapismus auch seine Vorzüge hat, wäre es für mich Realitätsverweigerung einfach so weiter zu machen.

My covid-19 test turned out negative – still there is a good chance that it was a false-negative. My symptoms quite pointed into that direction but I guess I’ll find out for sure in a couple of weeks when I’ll get one of these new antibody tests.

Mein Covid-19 Test war negativ. Allerdings gibt es dabei eine gute Chance das mein Ergebnis falsch-negativ war. Meine Symptome waren relativ klar, Gewissheit finde ich aber wahrscheinlich erst in ein paar Wochen mit einem der neuen Antikörpertests.

I was off work for two weeks and stayed home. Each day I took a picture of the (coffee) mug of the day on my balcony – apart from the day there was this icy rain. Then the mug and I stayed in. My parents dropped off food at the door and so did the sushi guy.

Ich wurde für 2 Wochen krankgeschrieben und bin brav zuhause geblieben. Jeden Tag habe ich ein Bild der Kaffeetasse des Tages auf meinem Balkon gemacht – ausser an dem Tag mit dem Eisregen. da sind Tasse und ich drinnen geblieben. Meine Eltern und der Sushi-Mann haben Essen vor meiner Tür abgestellt.

I had a dry cough, raised temperatures and felt constantly out of breath for 10 days. Two days were quite unpleasant – almost as in the height of my whooping cough in 2016, especially in the night and then pouf – the nasty cough turned from hungy tiger to complacend house cat.

Ich hatte einen trockenen Husten, erhöhte Temperatur und fast konstante meist nur leichte Atemnot für 10 Tage. Zwei Tage war der Husten fast so wir 2016 als ich Keuchhusten hatte. Innerhalb von 12 Stunden war es dann auf einmal besser.

Social distancing is a bugger – I still miss going out – so I tagged friends on Facebook for virtual #CoronaPartyTime, took a picture of my drink of the night on my bar cart and tagged us in places we have been. The 80s reproduction of a 1930s art deco bar cart is well stocked – though we are sadly missing the soft parts for the cocktails.

Das mit der sozialen Distanz macht wenig Spass. Auszugehen fehlt mir. Also tagge ich jeden Abend auf Facebook Freunde für eine virtuelle #CoronaParty. Ich mache ein Bild von meinem Drink und logge uns in unsere Lieblingsbars und -orte ein. Meine 80ger Jahre Reproduktion eines 1930ger Art-Deco ist zwar gut bevorratet – es fehlt aber an den alkohofreien Komponenten vieler Cocktails.

The last dress has a pattern named pinata – but this isn’t a Mexican paper thing these are Swedish dala horses. Like the one I still have from the 70s. Anyway – you see, you don’t have to wear sweat pants at home and can still be comfy.

Das Muster des letzen Kleides heisst Pinata – aber mit dem mexikanischem Papierspielzeug hat das wenig zu tun, das sind schwedische Dala-Pferde. Wie das, was schon seit den 1970gern bei uns in der Familie ist. Anyway – man muss zuhause nicht unbedingt in Jogginghosen auf dem Sofa sitzen.

Special Tights and Betsy Johnson’s Hot Sauce Bag

Just a quick one – sometimes you got a look all sussed out and 15min before you go out you think – ehhh, nope. So the japanese inspired floral tights and the bag stayed. But I went for a different dress and shoes. And though the white wall and I have seem to have a race who is paler I am chuffed with the look

Heute kurz und knapp. Manchmal denk man das Outfit ist fertig nur um es kurz bevor es los geht grundlegend zu ändern. So hiermit. Die Tasche und die markante Strumpfhose mit dem japanischen Blumenmotiv blieben. Kleid und Schuhe habe ich ausgetauscht. Und auch wenn die weisse Wand und ich ein Kopf an Kopf Rennen machen wer blasser ist, bin ich jetzt zufrieden.

Contrary to my other novelty bags this one can hold my purse, my phone, keys and (loose) make-up – without slimming them down.

Im Gegensatz zu meinen anderen ausgefallenen „Novelty“ Handtaschen hat die hier ein gutes Ladevolumen und mein Portemonaie, der Schlüsselbund, mein neues Handy und lose Lippenstift und co hinein – ohne das ich das verkleinern muss!

Unfortunately Pince of Wales Tartan, glencheck and smallish houndstooth can be tricky to take pictures off. The pattern becomes blurry and looses it’s crips black and white feeling.

Leider überstrahlen manche Muster und das klare Schwarz./Weiss wird ein flirrender Brei – wie hier der Prince of Wales Check (oder auch Glencheck, Hahnenfuss/ Pepita, etc.).

Special Tights – Steampunk Day 2020

After two years of an involuntary break due to being sick at the wrong time I finally made it back to the opening of the historc fair in Bochum. The setting is the Jahrhunderthalle – a factory building from 1902. The opening of the fair is celebrated with a Steampunk day.

Nach zwei jahren unfreiwilliger Pause, weil ich zur falschen Zeit krank war habe ich es dieses Jahr wieder zur Eröffnung des historischen Jahrmarktes in Bochum geschafft. Die Jahrhunderthalle – eine Fabrikhalle von 1902, ist eine grossartige Kulisse. Eröffnet wird der Jahrmarkt seit eingen jahren mit dem Steampunk-Tag.

I was pretty selfish this time – so no pics from the fantastic outfits of many of the other visitors. But feel free to look at my pictures from 2016 – with a dark cherry look and moi even on a caroussell horse and my blog-post from 2017 with a look featuring my oldest hat from 1990.

The fascinator has been on this blog a few times, but it usually looks like this. For the event I pimped it with two feathers and another brooch. The galaxy tights arrived unexpectedly early and I was chuffed that I could wear them to the fair and not the fascinator I planned to wear.

Der Fascinator war schon einige Male auf diesem Blog zu sehen – meist sieht er aber anders aus. Für das Event gestern habe ich zwei Federn und eine andere Brosche drangesteckt. Die Galaxy-Strumpfhose kam überraschenderweise früher an als erwartet. Dafür habe ich gerne ein anderes Hütchen als ursprünglich geplant ausgesucht.

I had this idea of a mermaid costume for years. Quite oftenthose are pretty skimpy. I wantes and needed something for events where I show no cleavage. You have seen this dress a few weeks ago for New Year’s Eve. I meant to put all of this together last year. But I got sick and the sequined shells and starfish arrived after carnival. But carnival is like Christmas – always once a year.

Seit Jahren hatte ich diese Idee für ein Meerjungfrauen-Kostüm. Sehr oft sind die aber recht ehhh – luftig. Ich wollte und brauchte aber etwas hochgeschlossenes. Eigentlich sollte das Kostüm schon letztes Jahr an den Start gehen. Nur da war ich dummerweise krank. Das Kleid habt ihr noch vor kurzem zu Silvester gesehen. Die Pailletten-Seesterne und .Muscheln kamen sogar erst nach Aschermittwoch an. Aber mit Karneval ist es wie mit Weihnachten – jedes Jahr wieder.

Last year right after Christrmas – which sounds so much longer ago than just a couple of weeks – I checked if I had everything for the little mermaid. All that was missing (apart from a trip to my tailor for the top) were the blue fishnets – I think I might exchange them for orange ones.

Letztes Jahr kurz nach Weihnachten – also vor wenigen Wochen – habe ich gecheckt ob ich für die kleine Meerjungfrau alles habe was ich brauche. Alles was fehlte war noch ein paar Netzstrümpfe (allerdings hole ich mir vielleicht noch wlelche in Orange)und das Top musste noch mal zu meinem Schneider.

The sun costume was a lucky by-product. I bought this lovely rococo costume and when I looked for matching accessories I found this sun headband. Instantly I knew it would be a great addition to my costumes. I used golden eye-shadow fpr my face. I admit I still got to work on that a bit. Which costume do you prefer?

Das Sonnenkostüm war ein Zufallsprodukt. Ich hatte mir gerade dieses Rokoko-Kostüm ausgesucht und mich nach Accessoires umgeschaut. Da habe ich den Sonnen-Haarreif entdeckt und dachte das wäre was für meinen Fundus. Für den goldenen Touch habe ich Lidschatten ins Gesicht getan. Ich gebe zu daran mus sich noch etwas arbeiten. Welches Kostüm gefällt auch besser?

Pink Hair meets Tapestry

Ooops, I did it again. Last time with pink hair was two years ago. I thought I was through with it. But somehow I don’t like to be told how to live my life. You have seen this tapestry dress on this blog – in my first year. In the meantime my tailor turned it into a wiggle dress.

Alle Jahre wieder – ok, diesmal ist es zwei Jahre her das ich mir das letzte Mal die Haare Pink gefärbt habe und ich dachte ich wäre damit durch. Aber ich reagiere schlecht darauf wenn man mir sagt wie ich zu leben habe. Das Gobelin-Kleid gab es schon mal auf meinem Blog zu sehen – im ersten Jahr. Dann aber noch mit ausgestelltem Rock – das hat mein Schneider vor einiger Zeit korrigiert.

Special Tights meet Pantone’s Classic Blue

Pantone starts the new roaring 2020s with a calm colour of the year – classic blue and I just rediscovered the perfect dress for that in December. Sadly MyPepita closed its shop so my joy over getting the dress for a pittance was rather limited.

Pantone startet mit dem ruhigem Classic Blue als Farbton des Jahres in die neuen wilden 2020ger und ich habe im Dezember dafür das perfekte Kleid wiederentdeckt. Normalerweise freue ich mich immer sehr wenn ich etwas spottbillig erwerbe – nur leider habe ich das im finalen Ausverkauf von MyPepita erworben.

MyPepita made this cute romper and this pretty pink handbag. Most of my things are are not vintage but reproductions or have a vintagy touch.The dress is a bit late 80s in colour and with the most moderate batwings ever.

MyPepita hat meinen Kleiderschrank um diesen entzückenden kurzen Jumpsuit und diese schöne pinke Handtasche bereichert. Die meisten meiner Sachen sind nicht original Vintage sondern Repros (oder Reproduktionen) oder haben zumindest einen passenden Look. Dieses blaue Kleid ist etwas späte 1980ger was die Farbe anbelangt und haben einen Hauch von Fledermausärmeln.

Last November I accidently discovered thights producer Pamela Mann. I came across these Christmas pudding tights on the YoursClothing site. When they arrived I had a few ideas but thought I’d like to see how others wear them. I didn’t get a lot of results on this but the brand who made them. Following that link I discovered printed tights in my size. Such a riot of patterns. I was smitten.

Im November habe ich zufällig die Strumphosenfirma Pamela Mann entdeckt. Ich hatte bei YoursClothing diese Weihnachtspudding-Strumpfhose entdeckt. Als die ankamen und ich damit etwas experimentiert hatte, war ich neugierig wie und womit andere die tragen. Tragebilder habe ich nicht wirklich gefunden – aber dafür den Hersteller. Und mit dem Link dahin tat sich eine neue Welt auf – zumindestens in meiner Grösse. Ein Rausch von Mustern (also mehr als 3). Ich war begeistert.

Gosh, was I nervous – so often when I was on the upper end of double or triple sizes, especially with thights I just couldn’t get my bum in. But the nice nylon mix is quite stretchy and the quality is nice. As they are 40 DEN tights they come across a little pale at my end of the size. So I wear matching neutral tights underneath.

Ziemlich nervös war ich allerdings schon ob sie passen würden. Ich hatte das schon zu oft am oberen Ende von Doppel- oder Dreifachgrössen das dann der Hintern einfach nicht mehr reinwollte. Aber der Nylon-Elasthan-Mix ist recht stretchig und die Qualität ist ordentlich. Mit 40 DEN kommen sie im echten Leben etwas blasser rüber als auf den Fotos und ich ziehe dann einfach eine farblich passende Strumpfhose drunter.

I am a huge tartan fan – even before I lived almost four years in the UK And I like greens. So it had to be the blackwatch plaid and as a Roy Lichtenstein was one of my favourite artists at 16, the comic strip design of the multicoloured paradise island pattern has that special pop art feeling. When they fit I felt like Humphrey Bogard in the final scene walking into the fog with Claude Raines „this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship“. There are a few patterns I still „must“ to buy. Seriously.

Ich bin ein grosser Fan von Schottenkaros – quasi schon seit immer und lange bevor ich einige Jahre im (noch?) Vereinigtem Königreich gelebt habe. Und grün mag ich sowieso. Also musste es das Blackwatch-Muster sein. Mit 16 war einer meiner Lieblingskünstler Roy Lichtenstein – das Comicmuster der bunten Paradise Island hat diesen Popart-Touch. Als ich festgestellt hatte die Strumpfhosen passen mir, kam ich mir vor wie Humphrey Bogard der am Ende von Casablanca mit Claude Raines in den Nebel geht „dies ist der Beginn einer wunderbaren Freundschaft“. Das wird sie, denn es gibt noch ein paar Muster, die ich ganz dringend „brauche“. Wirklich!

Two very artsy looks – office meets new years reception or gallery openings.

Zwei Outfits mit einem künstlerischen Touch – Karos fürs Büro und der goldene Rock für Anlässe wie Ausstellungseröffnungen oder Neujahrsempfänge.

I love the green tartan dress for work. I have shown it on the blog for Christmas and in Spring. A very fitting colour for landscacpe architecture. Combined with the zigzag mock-Missoni blouse it is a fun low-key option for meetings. The accessories are a nod to my love for folkloristic clothing – this time of Eastern European heritage.

Ich liebe das grüne Schottenkarokleid, zu Weihnachten oder auch im Frühling. Grün passt auch sehr gut zur Landschaftsarchitektur. Kombiniert mit dem von Missoni-inspiriertem Zickzack-Muster ist es perfekt für einfache Besprechungen. Trachten und Folkloresachen finde ich grossartig – wie in diesem Fall Dinge, der osteuropäische Touch.

Look number two is seriously artsy. The golden skirt has been on my blog a few times as well. Low-key or dressed up. I love it around Christmas and New Year’s eve. With it’s fake leather like gold-coated and quilted material it isn’t really a summer skirt.

Der zweite Look ist etwas ungewöhlicher. Der goldene Rock war schon einige Male auf meinem Blog – runtergetuned oder auch festlich. Ich trage den Rock sehr gerne um Weihnachten und Neujahr herum. Das liegt aber unter anderem auch an dem geoldbeschichteten Kunstlederartigem abgestepptem Material – das ist einfach nicht so nice im Sommer.

I love the folksy touch of the earrings, the bracelet and the scarf.

Ich mag den Folklore-Look der Ohrringe, des Armbandes und des Tuchs.
