Going out for Christmas isn’t always kitschy themed dresses. Although I probably get off with these probalby a bit better than a lot of people. Still turning a regular dress into a Christmas outfit is fun too and more versatile. You can try as hard as you want to but something with reindeer on never really manages to pull off in summer.

Wenn man in der Adventszeit aus geht, geht das nicht immer mit einem kitschigen Weihnachtskleid. Auch wenn man mir da wahrscheinlich mehr Zugeständnisse macht als anderen. Trotzdem es macht auch Spass ein normales Kleid weihnachtlich zu stylen. Andersrum ist das schwerer – egal wieviel Mühe man sich gibt Rentiere kommen nicht wirklich sommerlich rüber.

The base is the City Goddess dress I bought a month ago in the sale. Emerald green and a neckline that goes from office to party without looking amiss in either place.

Die Grundlage ist ein Etuikleid von City Goddess das ich Anfang November in Sale gekauft habe. Smaragdgrün und mit einem Ausschnitt der von Meeting bis Party alles mitmacht.

Look one is something I wore with plain black tights to the last council meeting of the year. But it is also a good look for a more formal setting with work or even family – depending on either wehere you go or how you celebrate.

Look Nummer eins ist etwas das ich mit einer einfachen schwarzen Strumpfhose zur letzen Ratssitzung des Jahres getragen habe. Genauso gut passt es für Formaleres bei der Arbeit wie Besprechungen oder eine Weihnachtsfeier. Oder auch für etwas schickere private Anlässe.

The second look is a happy party outfit – once more under the motto Elf Yourself – like a few days ago. I do like the pudding tights. They are utterly silly and go well with the cute kitten ears and the trinket necklace. I had my own Christmas party last weekend and my guests had a ball with my collection of festive hairbands. Sorry – no pics on this blog from that one. I don’t kiss and tell.

Das zweite Outfit ist ein fröhlicher Partylook. Mit den Pudding-Strumpfhosen von meinem letzten Elf Yourself Post. Ich mag das Muster. Wahrscheinlich weil es etwas albern und so kitschig ist. Aber deswegen passen auch die Katzenohren und die Weihnachtsklunkerkette so gut dazu. Letzen Samstag war meine eigene Weihnachtsparty und meine Gäste hatten viel Spass mit meiner Haarreifensammlung. Sorry – es gibt davon keine Bilder.

The weekend we shot the pics for this post my cousind (and favourite harpist) and I later switched roles. Here she is in front of the camera and playing the celtic harp. The video is lovely. When we filmed it was raining cats and dogs most of the time. The backdrop is my local Christmas market and the merry go round even has its own Instagram acount.

An dem Wochenende an dem wir diese Looks fotografiert haben, haben meine Cousine (und Lieblingsharfinistin) und ich später noch die Rollen getauscht. Dann stand sie vor der Kamera und ich dahinter. Das Ergebnis ist wunderbar geworden – aber seht selber. Das es übel geregnet hat sieht man gar nicht. Der Bochumer Weihnachtsmarkt mit dem Glühweinkarussell (mit eigenem Instagram-Account) bietet eine zauberhafte Kulisse.
